Cottage holiday rentals in Albemarle Sound

The place was perfect. Very well stocked and pet friendly. We saw horses daily by the rental. Very easy access to the beach. Only thing it needs is a sign out by the entrance of the driveway with house #. We came in at night during a storm and it took us a few minutes to find the drive. I definitely recommend.

This place was exactly what we needed to relax and enjoy Memorial Day weekend with friends! Clean, clutter free, and the hot tub was awesome for an early morning soak or late night kick back. About a 15 minute walk from the beach and located in a quiet neighborhood. Also, very short 1-minute drive to large grocery stores. The hosts were communicative and friendly. I would definitely stay here again if visiting OBX.

somewhere on the beach was the perfect beach house with out that overly "beach house" decor. it was tasteful and cleanly decorated. the outdoor areas were great. the pool is just the right size, the additional seating and outdoor lounge areas were great. The bedrooms had nice mattresses.

Marks place is a perfect location- just a short (5 minute) walk to the beach and to the shops. The house was well equipped with everything you could need plus amenities. My group really enjoyed the hottub and heated pool. Mark was also responsive to any questions and concerns!

My friends and I absolutely loved our stay here. The patio is incredible, it goes up above the roof where you can see the ocean. The walk to the beach is short, but you do either have to use stairs or go up a steep hill to access it. That was fine for us, but could see it being a challenge for the less able bodied. The surrounding neighborhood is cute and is very quiet which we appreciated, and is nearby to a lot of great restaurants. It’s not very walkable but very quick drive to anything you need. Only negative was we thought there would be bikes but there weren’t any (as far as we could find) but that was ok, we still had a great time! We would definitely stay again.

We had such an amazing time here! She was quick to respond and the place was beautiful! The backyard was perfect for our toddler to play in and I really appreciated that there was a baby gate for upstairs. We will definitely be coming back!

We really enjoyed staying at Chad’s place. It was very clean and comfortable and we felt like we were in a tree house with all the beautiful trees outside the windows. We loved the porches and the close proximity to restaurants and the beach. Chad was very friendly and responsive. We definitely will be staying again.

Great location, only a five minute walk to the beach and you can hear the waves while sitting on the top deck. The house had everything we needed. It was perfectly decorated and very comfortable for lounging after the day's adventures. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our family with dogs, and included a picnic table next to the grill which was perfect for seafood eating. Bikes were great and many other beach necessities for the summer months. Brian provided very detailed instructions and suggestions for restaurants and more. Great place!

This is a beautiful place and it's incredibly thoughtfully done! The screened porch is a DREAM. The house is full of thoughtful details, including plenty of beach towels, beach supplies, and pet-friendly items. We had no problem cooking at home with the fully stocked kitchen. It takes less than 5 minutes to walk to the beach, with the public access path almost across the street. I'd absolutely return!

Sarah was a great and responsive host and the location was absolutely beautiful, a nice private beach across the street, this stay at Sarahs helped make our trip as phenomenal as it was.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at this little cottage. It was clean and beautiful inside and we hated to leave. It was so much better than a hotel room. An adorable little gem with amazing hosts that made us feel special and welcomed!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Roberta's Cottage @ Muddy Creek. Very relaxing, very beautiful. Roberta was extremely accommodating, the cottage met & exceeded our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised to to have everything stocked from the fresh clean linens, a washer & dryer and even down to the coffee, so we could enjoy a cup first thing in the morning on the cute porch swing. We had hoped to take the kayaks out on the water but we ran into some friends and had a late dinner instead. We can't wait to come back again the next time we visit the area. Definitely #1 on our list of places to stay. Thank you!

I stayed here as I was visiting Merchants Millpond State Park. The park is a 10-minute drive away. The guest house was immaculate and easy to access. Denise provided clear instructions, local recommendations, and even a generous helping of delicious banana nut bread! Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Very nice guest house and a great location. Amanda was very informative about the process before we checked in. The booklet of activities and nearby restaurants was nice to have for additional ideas.

We loved our stay at See woo cottage. It was clean and so close to the beach! Also we took a nice 25 minute stroll down the path by the house to an awesome coffee shop, Shore Coffee. The beach access was the least crowded of any beach house we have rented. Each side of the house has two bedrooms and a bathroom which was nice for everyone to have their own space. We really enjoyed our time !

My wife and I have been using Airbnb for about 10 years now. This is our absolute favorite place. The cottage is very clean. It is in a great location (between downtown Norfolk and Virginia Beach) in a quiet neighborhood right on the Elizabeth River. Michael and Andy a very quick to respond to any questions with great recommendations. It is the little things, like leaving snacks and drinks (which came in handy after long hikes) to Andy greeting us at check-in that made us feel welcomed and comfortable. We cannot wait to come back again

This is our third time staying at Diane’s place and it was wonderful as usual. It’s always refreshing to experience the quiet atmosphere and peaceful surroundings. Great place to relax.

What a charming, impeccably clean and ultra comfortable home in our favorite Duck community, The Sanderling! We couldn't have been happier :-) The home was just perfect for our small group..the furniture was modern, clean and decorated with class. And, the kitchen was quite well stocked for our family who very much appreciates engaging in home cooked meals. The laundry machines were brand new and convenient being on the ground floor. We loved having everything on one level and of course...never missed an early morning sunrise and sunset across the street at the Sanderling dock! A magical time indeed - thank you Mark, for everything!
