Cabin holiday rentals in Escondido

We stayed at The Mountain House over a weekend, and it was amazing. Beautiful views from the house and the whole farm is so serene and peaceful. My daughter loved the animals (especially the goats) and if she had it her way, she would stay there full time. The chickens gave us lots of fresh eggs everyday. Also, I highly recommend taking one of the cooking classes that is offered as it really adds to the experience. We took the cheese making one and came home not just with knowledge of how to make delicious cheese, but also lots of cheese for us to enjoy.

Lydia was a very responsive host and was really easy to communicate with. We were a little skeptical because we knew we would be staying on the property where she lived with her family and were worried about privacy but the cabin is very private and although we naturally bumped into Lydia and her husband a few times, they did not spend any time out their back yard (where the cabin is located) for the duration of our stay so we had the place and the yard pretty much to ourselves which was great. We didn't realize how far away we would be from shops and restaurants. It is about a 20 minute walk to the nearby town so we did spend a lot of money on ubers but that was our own fault for not doing our research beforehand. Overall Lydias place is very clean and had everything we needed for our stay, she even had some stuff in the fridge and cleaning products which was really convenient. This place is exactly what you see. You have all the privacy you need, but you're not too far away from the market. Finding the place, getting inside and the amount of things that you can do at the home, makes it worth the stay. The house was spotless, and everything in the house works. No surprises.

We had a lovely weekend stay! Rowena is a fantastic host. She was warm, responsive, and incredibly helpful. She made our arrival smooth and our experience even more special by answering all our questions promptly, especially when we weren’t able to reach RedAwning directly. Her thoughtful touches, like leaving wine for us, really made a difference! The cabin itself is charming and full of personality. We enjoyed nights around the fire pit under the stars and peaceful mornings birdwatching from the porch. The neighborhood cat even hung out with us! Inside, we loved the quirky features, from the stone basement to the attic bedroom, and we had fun with the board games and projector setup. One thing to keep in mind is the stairs are uneven inside and outside the cabin, which could be tricky for guests who prefer more stable footing. Thanks again for a comfortable, memorable stay!

Really great experience staying at Ken’s A-frame. Had everything we needed for the outdoor kitchen. Easy drive to Old Town Temecula and local hikes.

All-in-all, this is a cabin that is private and serene, particularly mid-week and off-peak season. The view was to die for, and the cabin had all of the amenities you'd expect of a high-end getaway.

If you enjoy peace and quiet, far from the hustle and bustle of even a small city, and incredible views from your bedroom window, this place is a must stay! Victoria, our host did a great of communicating and working us to make sure we had all of the necessary details in advance of when we needed them and the house has all you’ll need for your time there. Can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely choose to stay here in the future.

The on site manager was just a call away and was very helpful! The area had friendly people, we were able to enjoy a peaceful stay. I’ve stayed at a smaller place which was more expensive and didn’t have as many amenities included so this stay was definitely worth the price ! Great view of the stars while we roasted s’mores, over all a perfect weekend getaway trip!! <3

The perfect getaway, gorgeous view of the lake and easy trials to walk and enjoy the scenery

This is a place you can’t skip out on. We were speechless from the very beginning of the view and how great the trip was going to be. There are plenty of things to do if you bring pets. We recommend the fire road near Doane pond which is a quick 5-10 min drive from the cabin. Some areas are restricted from bringing pets as to not disturb wildlife. The place overall was perfect and we felt right at home. It was so quiet and peaceful I highly recommend this place. I will definitely come back.

Great location, steps away from the Principe di Tricase Winery. Highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to stay at a winery.

We had an amazing stay at the property! From the moment we arrived, Ed made us feel so welcome. He gave us a fantastic ATV tour of the property and vineyard, and even treated us to a delicious bread and olive oil tasting. The location is very private, which makes it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The vineyard, filled with various fruits, is absolutely beautiful. The sight of geese and peacocks roaming the grounds added to the charm. The kitchen was well-stocked with basic pots, pans, and plenty of spices, making cooking easy. The peaceful atmosphere was enhanced by the sounds of insects at night, which was a soothing change for us. Ed truly went above and beyond, offering rides to and from our cars when needed and providing great recommendations for local wineries. There are plenty of wineries and hot springs nearby in Murrieta and Temecula. If you're looking to reconnect with nature and enjoy some peace and quiet, this is the perfect spot!

Shoutout to Ed! Making sure we are taken care of. Had the chance to do some orange and avocado picking nearby the cabin. Overall awesome experience! We probably come back once season for mango or other fruits are there.

I needed a place in the mountains in Ramona, this place was completely private, quiet, I had the whole place to myself. The host was very responsive to my messages, very helpful, I’ve stayed in places all over the world, and this is by far one of my favorite retreats.I was all alone, everything was clean, this is 100% worth your time, thank you for everything.

This place was so nice! Ed checks you in and drives you to your cabin on an ATV! He is extremely easy to get in touch with and very professional. He is also a wealth of information and answered all the questions we had about the property. It’s quite the experience driving through the vineyards. We didn’t get to stay long but will definitely be booking more time on a future stay. Thanks again for hosting!
