Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Hafnarfjörður

The renovated water tower is a lovely and clean home. There are large sliding doors on each floor that open up to give access to the outdoors or cool off the home. The main bathroom with a shower is located on the ground floor and comes with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There is also a hair dryer and many towels available. The bathroom on the second level was small and could be accessed through the main bedroom. The kitchen was bright and open. There was plenty of seating for the 4 of us, although the bench seat by the kitchen table could be thoroughly washed. Plenty of dishes and kitchen essentials. Washer and drying rack were a pleasant addition to the home and made traveling light easier. The rooms were cozy and the beds are comfortable. The stairs are steep but easy to navigate for our children (ages 7 and 9). The views from inside and from the deck are beautiful. The two birds nesting outside are quite friendly. Earlier guests named them Chuck and Larry.

The apartment was very clean and cozy and in my opinion the location is very achievable in and out if you have a car and plan to take day trips in basically any direction. Kitchen i.e. had everything(and more) you need for cooking. Comfy sofa for relaxing after a long day out. Groceryshop is like 150m away and has a good selection of items including own section for vegan stuff. We had absolutely no issues during our residence here and would definately pick this one again in the future. Highly recommended

An absolutely stunning lake side villa close to the famous Golden Circle. We used it as our base for a week to explore Iceland with friends. We were two families, with three children in total. The villa is simply stunning, so beautiful and the perfect home away from home. We all loved returning back in the evenings and enjoying the sauna and hot tub. Then the grown ups sat up late to take in the never ending sun outside, snuggled with blankets and fire pit for company. We lost track how many photos we all took of the lake. We also enjoyed our coffee in the morning over looking the lake and running the loop around the lake. Communication was excellent and Telma couldn't have been more responsive or helpful. We 100% recommend and will be back!

The apartment was great: clean, close to shops and restaurants, and in a quiet neighborhood. It was peaceful and had everything we needed. Beds were comfy and at night, it was quiet. We were able to make coffee in the morning with no issue. We loved our stay and were able to get an earlier check in, which was so kind. So appreciate it!

We had a wonderful stay! The host was incredibly responsive and accommodating, even allowing us to check in super early. The house was spotless, and the host provided us with all the details about local events, making our visit even more enjoyable. Just a heads up—this is someone's home, so there were a couple of rooms with kids' toys that we had to keep an eye on to make sure our little ones didn't wander in. It wasn't an issue for us, but it's something to be mindful of if you're traveling with children. Overall, a perfect listing and we loved our time here!

The host was incredibly friendly and responsive, even leaving us a handwritten note and it was such a thoughtful touch. also the kitchen was spotless and fully equipped with everything we needed, which made it easy to settle in and feel at home. Being escaped from the coldness of iceland, heating worked perfectly, and the cozy, warm atmosphere made the place feel welcoming and comfortable after a day of exploring. The location was in a peaceful neighborhood, and the house was spacious, giving us plenty of room to relax. Staying here made our Iceland experience even more memorable !! The house was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Having a washer and dryer was a huge plus. Check-in was easy, and the location was simple to find. The views were stunning, and enjoying coffee on the deck each morning was a highlight. The drive to Reykjavik and nearby attractions was very manageable (about 30 minutes for most places we visited). One helpful tip: consider where you'll spend most of your time. We explored the southern coast mostly and didn’t fully realize how tiring longer drives would feel after full days out. This is by no means a downside to the house or its location—both were wonderful! It’s simply a helpful tip for others planning their itinerary: take travel times into consideration based on your daily plans. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and truly appreciated the comfort and beauty of this home and our host was great!

Sigrún was incredibly helpful and was gracious enough to allow us to check in early. She had clear instructions and the place is about 15 mins away from the heart of Reykjavik. The place is right by the water and was very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed multiple “sunsets” from the shores. Thanks again Sigrún, we appreciate you and your place and will always remember it for our time in Reykjavik!

We couldn’t have dreamt of a better location for a trip to Iceland. Anna was superb in the least up and gave som many helpful suggestions. She was an impeccable host. So kind. Friendly and helpful. Thank you both for an idyllic stay.

Hildur's home was better than expected. We loved all the windows, all the views, the extra hot water, the comfortable beds, the toys, the large tv. It was extremely clean and beautifully decorated.

Zeer fijn verblijf op een mooie centrale locatie bij Reykjavik, 10 minuten zit je in het centrum, en 10 minuten zit je ook op de ringweg. Vanaf luchthalen zeer goed bereikbaar en eenvoudig te vinden. Accomodatie is simpelweg perfect, zeer luxe, knus en super netjes. Keuken is van alle gemakken voorzien, badkamer is compleet, slapen is heerlijk en rustig, weinig tot eigenlijk geen geluid. Woongedeelte is echt heel leuk ingericht en de televisie (alhoewel weinig tot niet gebruikt), is ook perfect. Zeer, zeer tevreden ik zou iedereen aanbevelen om hier te verblijven. De host Sara is bereikbaar en behulpzaam. 5/5, de volgende keer zal ik zeker weer hier verblijven.

Fantastisk opphold, og leiligheten var enda finere enn på bildene. Lett å komme seg til fra flyplassen, lett å komme seg til Reykjavik, lett å komme seg rundt til andre nydelige steder. Superhyggelig vert som alltid svarte raskt ☺️ Ingenting å klage på, så dette anbefales!

We enjoyed staying at Ragnar's place. It was exactly as pictured and was great for getting around to all the sites. Ragnar is very kind and helped us when we had something go wrong. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had what we needed and the bathroom was very big and clean.

Would definitely recommend. Host was extremely helpful and quick to respond, giving great advice of local supermarkets etc. Furnished to a beautiful standard, very clean and all the essentials, plus more. Sadly, we were very excited to see tin foil in the drawer 😁 as this was so useful to us- our children who didn't like early breakfast, so we wrapped bacon sandwiches each day for on the go. Loved the addition of a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, all with washing tablets available. Felt like home from home and made our stay a really happy one. Thank you so much.

We had a great stay and highly recommended. The home was perfect for our family of 3. Hosts responded to all our questions and beds were comfy!!! Not a negative at all but if you are a light sleeper, like I am, bring ear plugs. Slightest of road noise from highway in the distance but not a deal breaker by any means. We LOVED OUR STAY!!

Die Ferienwohnung entspricht voll und ganz der Beschreibung. Sie liegt in einer ruhigen Wohngegend am Stadtrand von Reykjavik. Alles was man braucht, ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Parken vor der Tür ist kein Problem.

The apartment was very spacious, clean, comfortable with a lovely view of the little harbor nearby. It provided my son and I with a base to explore many of Iceland's attractions using our car rental. Getting into the city takes about 12 minutes by car and around 45 minute by bus. We opted to cook at home since there's not a lot of restaurants nearby. Generally speaking this was a fantastic place to stay and made our whole week in Iceland stress free and relaxing. The apartment also has great water pressure and lots of warm water!

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft ist einfach ein Traum, schick und modern eingerichtet, alles was man braucht ist da. Es war sauber und wir haben uns gleich wohl gefühlt. Die Aussicht ist natürlich ein Highlight, welches wir jeden Morgen beim Frühstücken genossen haben. Wir würden wieder kommen :)

A perfect spot to crash and/or work with easy access to Reykjavik city and outlying areas. Would absolutely recommend and would look to stay again. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time in this cozy apartment. It was a nice location to be outside the city but have easy access to main roads and shops. We chose this place as it was walking distance to our friends' house. Heba's decor is very pleasing and the kitchen had everything we needed. The space is well designed for relaxation and practicality. It was easy to park our rental car in the driveway.

Gunnar was very responsive throughout, and we liked the rental and the area!
