Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Hafnarfjörður

The renovated water tower is a lovely and clean home. There are large sliding doors on each floor that open up to give access to the outdoors or cool off the home. The main bathroom with a shower is located on the ground floor and comes with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There is also a hair dryer and many towels available. The bathroom on the second level was small and could be accessed through the main bedroom. The kitchen was bright and open. There was plenty of seating for the 4 of us, although the bench seat by the kitchen table could be thoroughly washed. Plenty of dishes and kitchen essentials. Washer and drying rack were a pleasant addition to the home and made traveling light easier. The rooms were cozy and the beds are comfortable. The stairs are steep but easy to navigate for our children (ages 7 and 9). The views from inside and from the deck are beautiful. The two birds nesting outside are quite friendly. Earlier guests named them Chuck and Larry.

We really loved the cottage by the sea. Such a beautiful setting with horses out back, the mtns and seals swimming nearby.

A beautiful place at a beautiful and peaceful location easily accessible to Reykjavik and Thingvellir onwards to Strokkur. The house is clean, and as described. Unnur is easily accessible and respond to queries promptly.

Good stay ; Location is good with Super markets and Gas station near by. The house is equiped with everythjng thaat you need the best part is the kitchen.

An absolutely stunning lake side villa close to the famous Golden Circle. We used it as our base for a week to explore Iceland with friends. We were two families, with three children in total. The villa is simply stunning, so beautiful and the perfect home away from home. We all loved returning back in the evenings and enjoying the sauna and hot tub. Then the grown ups sat up late to take in the never ending sun outside, snuggled with blankets and fire pit for company. We lost track how many photos we all took of the lake. We also enjoyed our coffee in the morning over looking the lake and running the loop around the lake. Communication was excellent and Telma couldn't have been more responsive or helpful. We 100% recommend and will be back!

The apartment was great: clean, close to shops and restaurants, and in a quiet neighborhood. It was peaceful and had everything we needed. Beds were comfy and at night, it was quiet. We were able to make coffee in the morning with no issue. We loved our stay and were able to get an earlier check in, which was so kind. So appreciate it!

We had a wonderful stay! The host was incredibly responsive and accommodating, even allowing us to check in super early. The house was spotless, and the host provided us with all the details about local events, making our visit even more enjoyable. Just a heads up—this is someone's home, so there were a couple of rooms with kids' toys that we had to keep an eye on to make sure our little ones didn't wander in. It wasn't an issue for us, but it's something to be mindful of if you're traveling with children. Overall, a perfect listing and we loved our time here!

The host was incredibly friendly and responsive, even leaving us a handwritten note and it was such a thoughtful touch. also the kitchen was spotless and fully equipped with everything we needed, which made it easy to settle in and feel at home. Being escaped from the coldness of iceland, heating worked perfectly, and the cozy, warm atmosphere made the place feel welcoming and comfortable after a day of exploring. The location was in a peaceful neighborhood, and the house was spacious, giving us plenty of room to relax. Staying here made our Iceland experience even more memorable !! Great location in Reykjavik. Walkable to most attractions near central Reykjavik. Parking garage around corner but is closed from Midnight to 7am. Only had an issue with those times once. They pull down steel doors so you can’t enter or exit. You could hear the neighbors but they offered ear plugs for you to pick u on 4th floor. Also had bags of ice for your use ( this was a great luxury in Iceland)! We also used the guest washer and dryer (nice perk). Would stay again!

We couldn’t have dreamt of a better location for a trip to Iceland. Anna was superb in the least up and gave som many helpful suggestions. She was an impeccable host. So kind. Friendly and helpful. Thank you both for an idyllic stay.

Hildur's home was better than expected. We loved all the windows, all the views, the extra hot water, the comfortable beds, the toys, the large tv. It was extremely clean and beautifully decorated.

We felt very comfortable in Gestur's apartment! Location and accessibility was great with a car, check in via key box without any problems. The apartment was clean and well equipped - ideal for us as a family of five. About 15-20 minutes by car to Reykjavik, shopping nearby. All of our desired sights in Iceland were easily accessible by car. Gestur was easily accessible and very friendly. We would come back!!

Fantastic stay, and the apartment was even nicer than in the pictures. Easy to get to from the airport, easy to get to Reykjavik, easy to get around to other beautiful places. Super nice host who always responded quickly. ☺️ Nothing to complain about, so this is recommended!

We enjoyed staying at Ragnar's place. It was exactly as pictured and was great for getting around to all the sites. Ragnar is very kind and helped us when we had something go wrong. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had what we needed and the bathroom was very big and clean.

Vilborg’s apartment in Reykjavik was perfect for our stay. Check-in was super smooth with clear and easy instructions. The apartment itself is beautiful—full of lovely plants and cute, stylish decor. It felt spacious and comfortable for our family of four, and everything was very clean and quiet. A great place to relax after exploring the city. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay and highly recommended. The home was perfect for our family of 3. Hosts responded to all our questions and beds were comfy!!! Not a negative at all but if you are a light sleeper, like I am, bring ear plugs. Slightest of road noise from highway in the distance but not a deal breaker by any means. We LOVED OUR STAY!!

This was a great place, quiet, comfortable and well appointed. Fredrik was very helpful, responding to my request promptly.

The apartment was very spacious, clean, comfortable with a lovely view of the little harbor nearby. It provided my son and I with a base to explore many of Iceland's attractions using our car rental. Getting into the city takes about 12 minutes by car and around 45 minute by bus. We opted to cook at home since there's not a lot of restaurants nearby. Generally speaking this was a fantastic place to stay and made our whole week in Iceland stress free and relaxing. The apartment also has great water pressure and lots of warm water!

We only stayed one night as we had an early morning flight. The apartment was perfectly located to travel to the airport; the apartment itself was really big, had a homely feel to it, was very clean and it made our last night in Iceland very calm. I would recommend.

We had a wonderful time in this cozy apartment. It was a nice location to be outside the city but have easy access to main roads and shops. We chose this place as it was walking distance to our friends' house. Heba's decor is very pleasing and the kitchen had everything we needed. The space is well designed for relaxation and practicality. It was easy to park our rental car in the driveway.
