Farmstay holiday rentals in Iceland

Our stay was the perfect location for our short stay itinerary. Easy to find, very peaceful with beautiful views. The accommodations are just as described with comfortable beds and the hot pot being our favorite, next to the horses that would visit us daily. We can’t wait to visit again!

I stayed at the Hekla Comfort House with my father and brother for two nights during a 6 day trip in Iceland. My father hadn't been to Europe since the 70's and this was our first time traveling just the three of us. We loved every minute of our stay and wish we could have extended our time there. Such a lovely home and the hosts have clearly thought of every last amenity their guests may need. We drove a lot exploring the South coast and it was so wonderful to come back to this place after a long day in the car. Many thanks for sharing your special home with us!

Wir haben uns super wohl gefühlt. Check in war einfach und die Lage ist einzigartig. Ruhig und doch alles gut erreichbar. Mein Highlight sind die Schafe. Mindestens zwei haben uns immer begrüßt und mit ein paar Bananen und Äpfel sind sie noch zutraulicher. der Tip kam vom Gastgeber selbst. Küche ist hervorragend ausgestattet und auch der Wohnbereich ist geräumig mit tollen Blick auf die Berge und das Meer. Das Bad ist schön groß und gepflegt. Handtücher etc sind bereits vorhanden. Wir können es nur empfehlen.

There is basically no accommodation in Vik, so you will be somewhere near this property. This place is super clean, easy to find, easy to access. Everything as described. 10 min or so into town. close to lighthouse. Spotted Puffins near there (up close). Lot's of recommendations, etc in the guide the hosts provide.

We absolutely loved our stay! The house was perfect, sadly we only stayed 1 night. Scenery was amazing! Nice and close to good restaurants and the local attractions, geysir and Gullfoss, but out in the country so very peaceful and quiet. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and I would definitely stay there again!

Eine wirklich sehr schöne und idyllisch gelegene Hütte. wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Sie sah auch in echt noch besser wie auf den Bildern aus. Einziger winziger Kritikpunkt: eine Schüssel und eine etwas größere Pfanne wären sehr hilfreich.

We loved our short but sweet stay at this peaceful location. Would definitely return on another trip! A perfect location for Golden Circle or heading further south. Loved it and the surroundings!

Das Häuschen war sehr einfach zu finden und wunderschön gelegen. Wir waren zu viert, es war zwar etwas eng aber es hat gereicht. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

We loved this place! It was a little away from the road but worth the drive for the peace, quiet, and amazing views. Loved the sheep wandering around the place! Everything was available and well thought out in the home.

Wir haben eine Nacht während unserer Island Rundreise in dieser wirklich wunderschönen Unterkunft verbracht. Die Lage und die Aussicht sind toll, die Unterkunft war insgesamt sehr sauber, die Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet. Es war eine der schönsten Unterkünfte während unserer Reise. Absolut empfehlenswert!

We stayed 2 nights on Viktoria’s farm. It was a peaceful and relaxing location; comfortable and clean. We enjoyed bird watching and walking on the trails. We were able to make breakfasts and dinner easily with what’s available. Beds were very comfortable as well. Overall a lovely place to stay. Good location for day trips to Dragsnes and Holmavik. There is also a hotel close by that had excellent dinner.

Great location for a south coast adventure. Horses and cows everywhere you look. Views of mountains and the sunset right from the Airbnb. Would definitely stay again!

Guðfinna’s place was the only one where we stayed two nights on our Iceland trip, and it was so worth it. The surroundings included horses, sheep, birds, and great views. The house itself was private and had everything one could ask for. In addition, Guðfinna and her daughter were friendly on all occasions during our stay.

Excellent location. Clean, well-equipped, very much as advertised. Just FYI, hot tub is just that- not a jacuzzi, so no jets- but a lovely way to unwind after a day seeing the sites. Also very nice to have a washer and dryer available for use. An excellent find!

We had an amazing few days here. The view and location are amazing. Loved seeing the horses and dogs. Bjorn was so kind and helpful. The beds were very comfortable. It had everything we needed. It was a handy location for driving to the national park and golden circle. If you want peace and tranquillity and a taste of Iceland this is a perfect place.

A wonderful farm stay. Horses right outside the window, a friendly dog to great you and sheep in the morning. Well appointed and nice and quiet. Great value.

Wonderful stay at Lava Horses Cowshed! Looks even nicer in person than in the pictures. Plenty of space for our family of 5 (3 adults & 2 teens). Beautiful surroundings, horses, and sheep.

This is an authentic stay, one that might be overlooked but shouldn’t be if you are wanting a place to stay close to the peninsula. Fjola is deeply connected to her family land and she is so kind. The home is remote by US standards but that’s part of the charm. The view from one of the bedrooms is unforgettable. We enjoyed the goats and cat that visited us each morning and evening.

Great location, close to gas station, vinbudin, restaurants, banks, Route 1. Very cozy accommodations, relaxing hot tub with great scenery. Loved sitting on the couch with the electric fire place on (heat off) watching TV to relax before bed. Hosts are very responsive and live next door if you need anything. This was our second time staying here, we loved it so much.

Absolutely, adorable, beautiful and peaceful! Comfy bedding, clean home, friendly/responsive hosts, farm fresh eggs, home baked goods, and incredible views. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend the last few days of our trip relaxing after spending the first half in Reykjavik!

The house was absolutely lovely, built in a typically islandic style and with lots of caution on details. We felt very comfortable from the very beginning and enjoyed our entire stay a lot. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen perfectly equipped, and the wonderfully calm atmosphere simply gorgeous. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub surrounded by the amazing islandic landscape or having a cup of coffee on the sunny terrace. But think of planning a bit ahead with your groceries as the next bigger supermarket is approximately 40 km away. Altogether a perfect holiday experience!
