Holiday rentals with beach access in Illinois

We stayed at Ariel and Gabby's place several times and we always had a great experience! Their place is very welcoming and comfortable. The neighborhood is beautiful and peaceful, and the hosts are very nice and helpful. We hope to be back soon.

Clemente's place was in a great location central and walkable to many great areas and the train station, it was clean, it was easy to find, and it was comfortable. The beds were comfortable too, the A/C and heat was great, and the kitchen was well equipped. I would definitely recommend his place as a nicely affordable 2 bedroom in close proximity to the sites and restaurants.

Such a stylish and cozy spot in the heart of Andersonville! The beds were incredibly comfortable and the space had so much charm. Just steps away from great shops, restaurants, and everything else you would need near Clark street. Would definitely stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay and appreciated how responsive and accommodating Stephanie was! The view is beautiful and the surrounding area was great. Being right above a coffee shop was also extremely convenient.

Our family of five felt right at home and thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay. Daniela's place is comfortable and charming. Its location in a peaceful neighborhood was a restful reprieve after full days sightseeing in Chicago. The close proximity to the lake and downtown Evanston restaurants/shops was another plus -- as was the dedicated parking spot. On top of all that, Daniela is a thoughtful host who was helpful, understanding and responsive throughout our stay. We look forward to coming back and highly recommend this beautiful condo.

I love the Andersonville neighborhood and the stay went great! We got in way later than expected but we still were able to find parking about 2 blocks away (5 min walk). The next day parking was a breeze. The area is so nice, right off Clark and close to lots of great food/coffee/drinks. Thank you Joseph!

Dorothy was very helpful and accommodating. She was communicating with us about construction around her place and challenges we might face getting there. Our travel plans changed several times and she was flexible and remained helpful through all of the changes. Another positive for Dorothy was the extras at the place. Bagels, yogurt, coffee, and toiletries were all available for us. Loved the peaceful location close to amenities. A good hub to explore Chicago from. Thank you!

The home was absolutely as described. Lovely, cozy decor. Everything felt clean. The important things were updated (bathroom, carpets, etc), but all the charming character was left in tact. I would definitely recommend this place to others. Be aware the town is VERY small. Two small restaurants with limited hours. (The one we went to - Hometown Cafe - was great though.) While the house is near the lake, it wasn't a fishable area for us without a boat. Thankfully Eldon Hazlet park was only 15 mins away, so we got our fishing/ nature fix over there. The home was great to come back and relax in. We spent most of Sunday inside due to rain and it was still a very pleasant weekend!

This was our second time at Ho Hum East and we had a great time! The new deck updates were super nice adding outdoor space to layout food and enjoy most meals on the deck. The outdoor kitchen wasn't completed yet but, will be a great addition to the new deck when it's done. The main bath was newly remodeled and was very nice and spacious. The lake front was well maintained and a great space for us to spend most of our time enjoying the water, sun, fishing, boating, nature and wildlife. The dock was a little wobbly although, we were told that was being replaced at some point but it worked for us. The airbnb owner provided a paddleboard, rubber raft, corn hole boards and other outdoor items to use. The proximity of the home was only a few minutes from amenities i.e. pool, golf course, beach and The Cove (restaurant). The only drawback is all the steps - it would be great if there was a pulley system or other system to take items up and down the steps from the house to the lake front.

Spent 5 nights at Bikash's AirBNB... May 26 - 31, 2025. Wife, dog and I were in the area for two Middle School Graduation ceremonies for two grandchildren. Overall, very positive experience. Very clean with well-equiped kitchen. Rain Shower in 2nd Bathroom a bonus. Would definitely come back. Bikash very helpful.

We had a great time celebrating our daughters graduation from college! It was nice to have a space large enough for our entire family together, to relax and enjoy the outdoor outdoors! George was a very responsive host and we thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit a couple of nights just sitting around and enjoying our time together!

Larry was a very accommodating and responsive host! The place was amazing and exactly as described. Plenty of room, amenities, and beautiful views. He made sure we had plenty of supplies and all the stuff for Smores!

Amazing place, stunning views, and incredible amenities. We’d give it 6 stars if we could. The early morning hot tub over looking the lake was so peaceful and relaxing. From billiards, to fishing, driving golf balls into the lake, and games galore, this place is fun for the whole family! The friendly and knowledgeable host provides a river themed stay and adventure that we will never forget.

We had 8 adults (4 just graduated) and one child in our group. Everyone had a great time and no one was bored. Me and my husband really enjoyed sitting on the deck with our coffee in the mornings soaking in the beautiful scenery, the duck patrolling the lake every morning was an added bonus 😀. The rest of the group enjoyed relaxing and playing in the lake most of the day and playing pool inside at night. Havana is only a 10 minute drive away and has most of what you would need (grocery store, farm and home, gas, restaurants, etc). The hosts were very responsive and helpful! We had an unexpected death in the family the week before our trip and the funeral was set for the day in the middle of our trip. The hosts went above and beyond to accommodate our trip with the funeral. We were lucky that their place wasn't booked for the day after our trip ended and they kindly moved our reservation a day to help us have the most time enjoying their space. We would book with the hosts again!

It was a very cozy apartment with a nice set up. Easy access to university of Chicago and the lakefront trail. We really enjoyed our stay!

Will’s flat was exactly what my son and I needed on our trip to Chicago. It completely met our expectations and felt like home. My son was impressed with the comfort of the Murphy bed. The master bedroom was palatial and well-appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed, though we only used it for breakfast each day. As we were there primarily to take in a couple of baseball games we couldn’t have been happier with the location- Wrigley Field was only a few minutes away and we were close to the red line which took us to where the White Sox play. Will was very helpful with instructions and quick to respond to our questions. Absolutely would recommend this place without hesitation.

The condo is in a quiet and attractive neighborhood and the hosts answered my few questions promptly. The place was very clean and although the bedrooms were small, it was nice that each of us (nana and two teens) could have their own space.

Chip and Lito's place is a dream! Spacious, clean, quiet, and convenient to restaurants, the "L", and the beach. Apartment is very well appointed, yet not cluttered. The shower is awesome! It was very nice to have a full kitchen, with coffee makers and dishwasher. I definitely plan to stay here the next time I visit Chicago!

Kyriako is a great host, and responded quickly to my messages. She gave very detailed instructions via video about how to check in and find the parking spot. This is a very nice rental in a lovely neighborhood only a few blocks from the beach! The building is quiet and secure. There are delicious restaurants within walking distance and the free parking spot in back was a real plus! I would definitely use this rental again in the future 😊

This is a WONDERFUL one bedroom apartment that is both private and spacious! The owner/host has the space fabulously decorated with an eclectic mix of original contemporary artwork and antiques. Nothing is generic about the space and it has been outfitted for guests with loving care. The host, Kaye, clearly puts much trust in her guests with her charming decor and furnishings. The amount of space, the privacy and the home-y feel make it a place we'd love to return to.

WWWWOOOWWW!! This host team was EXCEPTIONAL! I’ve stayed in plenty of AirBnBs, and I’ve NEVER encountered a host that was so EXTREMELY accommodating, responsive, and kind! Other hosts should take a page out of their book! The only thing I would change, and it’s not a bad thing (just a matter of preference); I would have some type of blinds or drapes over the living room windows. This will allow for privacy when you’re sitting in the living/dining room areas at night with the lights on inside. Hands down, we would without a doubt book with this team again! Great location, beautiful neighborhood — such a lovely place to stay! Enjoyed a girls weekend here, comfortably fitting 5 of us. Danny was very kind and responsive with any questions we had.
