We loved staying there. Loved the history of the house and made us feel welcome and right at home we plan on going back and explore more of that area in the future.

Great location, great accomodations, and most importantly amazing hosts! Tripp and Todd were so welcoming, I felt right at home. They provided helpful suggestions for meals, activities, transport, etc. Hosts were in communication from the moment I landed to coordinate checkin, and allowed me to drop off my bags early when I arrived prior to the check in time. The location is great, only a few minutes walk to Clark Street which is well populated and has many restaurants and independent shops. Do yourself a favor and book with Tripp and Todd if you ever find yourself in Andersonville/Edgewater!

This country house is well located, quiet, off the beaten path, but easy to reach. The rooms are super clean and well appointed. The Hosts are very social and take great care and interest in their guests. They are great communicators, and appreciate all feedback. Best advice to potential guests....must like dogs and good conversation,( and movies). And coordinate plans closely with hosts to take advantage of their local tips and advice. and Respect for house rules will make for a smooth stay for everyone. Travelers can not go wrong choosing to stay with Laura and Mike, they were/are the best.

Vikki is a fabulous Hostess! She's friendly, helpful and I felt very comfortable the minute I stepped into her home. If I'm in the Peoria area again, I would absolutely try to stay with her!! Beautiful, large home and this stay I had my own bathroom! Loved it!! Oh, can't forget to mention Bernice and Kitty! :)

Lovely vacation stay! The restoration of the church made this such a unique and fun experience. Excellent hosts.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Christiane's & Patrick’s beautiful home, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at home. The space is impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Both were outstanding host—responsive, friendly, and full of great local recommendations. They went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect, checking in to make sure I had everything I needed.

Nazneen and Mehtab went above and beyond to make my stay exceptional! I was a long-term guest while finishing my travel nursing contract, and this home was the perfect location for my commute to the hospital. The house itself is like an art museum. It’s full of color, charm, and rich with history. During my stay, I had the pleasure of creating several unique items with Nazneen’s Pursenality Specialty Handbags, which added a special, creative touch to my experience. Another thing I loved was the sound of the train in the distance. It was very cozy and helped me sleep better at night. This stay made my final weeks in Elgin truly enjoyable, and I would gladly return in the future! Thank you for treating me so kindly and opening your beautiful home. Even when I was sick towards the end, I felt so taken cared of with the hot teas you both made for me. Also, your cooking and food is so delicious. I left inspired to cook more after the meals we shared. Thank you so very much:)

We had a great stay with Evelyn! Somehow I mistakenly booked one day off, for a Sunday instead of Saturday. So when we showed up a full day early, Evelyn was surprised but was very gracious and let us stay the day early with no problems. I was extremely grateful that everything worked out. The space was amazing, I love old houses and old architecture, and this home was beautiful. Even though it is old, the amenities were modern and the bathroom was exquisitely done. Evelyn has done a beautiful job restoring it so far, and she shared its colorful history with us. I would definitely recommend this location for anyone who wants an interesting experience instead of a typically bland hotel!

I thought Camille did a wonderful job. The house was gorgeous, and she was very welcoming. My family felt right at home and the town was great. Camille was a great host and went above and beyond having snacks and food for us, offered up games and shared space in her home for us to enjoy as well. I would definitely stay at Camille's again, and would recommend to others as well. Thank you Camille!

This was my second time staying here, and it was once again absolutely lovely. Charming and comfortable. Wonderful hosts, and Mary prepares a beautiful and delicious breakfast. I highly recommend a stay here. You’ll want to come back, just like me.

What a lovely surprise. My husband and I attended a graduation in Carbondale and knew nothing about the area. Leah's place is a little oasis. The property is lush--loved the peonies and irises. The house has so much attention to detail and charming furnishings. The bathroom was so special with heated floors, a beautiful tub, lush towels and even slippers for us. But the best part is Leah who is a delight to visit with and makes you feel right at home. Don't miss this place.

We were here for just one night, but we absolutely loved our time at this beautiful, historic hotel. The surroundings were beautiful. We really enjoyed our delicious breakfast and learning all about the history of the hotel and the area. We would love to visit again sometime.

I was in Chicago for the night, and this stay made me feel right at home! We had a BEAUTIFUL room, and all the shared spaces were spotless and well-designed. I will definitely come back to Chicago and book this unit again. Most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on as well.

I cannot say enough good things about Miss Murphy’s Bed and Breakfast. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a storybook. The house is charming, cozy, and full of character—every detail thoughtfully curated to make you feel right at home. My room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The location is also perfect—tucked away just enough for peace and quiet, yet still a short stroll from the heart of downtown Galena with all its cute shops and historic charm. If you’re headed to Galena, do yourself a favor and stay here! It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. Can’t wait to come back!
