Castello Maniace, the fortress that protects the entrance to the large port of Syracuse, a natural inlet facing the west side of YOUR "private place" from the terrace of which you can enjoy dreamy sunsets and sunrises. It is located in Via Salomone, a curved street that flows into the castle square where single-story houses alternate with taller 19th-century buildings. One of these has been totally renovated, the staircase ends on the third floor of the building which, like an island suspended among the rooftops, allows you to enjoy a breathtaking view of all four quadrants of the compass. To the west, the Natural Port of Syracuse; to the east, the seafront promenade; to the south, Castello Maniace and the opposite entrance to the port, from which the Plemmirio Marine Protected Reserve departs; finally, to the north, the dome and bell towers of the cathedral built on the temple of Minerva and the church of Santa Lucia alla Badia, both lying in the majestic Piazza Duomo, stand out against the blue sky of Ortigia. The remarkable height of the attic allowed us to give the house a loft area and create another level supported by glass inserts, iron beams, orsogrill and wooden slats that create a pleasant continuity and amplify the views of the sky and sea. The effect is that of a free tower on all four sides. The rooms are very bright thanks to 4 large Velux skylights on the roof of the master bedroom and the seven balconies that now frame the dome of the Church of the Holy Spirit that stands on the long sea of Levante, now a stretch of sea crossed by the boats of local fishermen. While from the terrace, 20 square meters cut into the pitched roof, which is accessed by two French windows, you can see the entire island of Ortigia. The entrance leads directly to the kitchen consisting of a wooden island complete with all the high-tech accessories that seamlessly leads us to the Living area gathered around the fireplace. From here, an exposed iron staircase, opposite the one on the kitchen side in submarine-style wood with a closet below, takes us to the level of the terrace in a completely transparent glass mezzanine. On the west side, a first bedroom of about 40 square meters extends above which is the other bedroom of the same size that is reached through the wooden staircase that also leads to the bathroom and the second entrance for the terrace. The technological part is completed by a flat internet connection and WiFi, additional Hi FI system with amplified subwoofer to listen to music from any MAC, PC, tablet or Apple/Android mobile device. Last but not least, air conditioning that you will probably never need to use considering the microclimate present in your "Postoaparte" is an additional added value that you will find.
