Holiday rentals with a hot tub in James River

The place is right by the river and really calm and quiet. Enjoyed the view of the river, hot tub and the fully stocked kitchen. Everything was just perfect.

Me and my family loved our stay. The pool and hot tub was great and lots of fun, we didn’t expect how deep it was. The mini golf course is a good time as well. There was so much to enjoy at the house we barely had time to go to the beach. And the host and owner were extremely friendly, and helpful.

We had a wonderful stay. My family fished, kayaked, paddle boarded, and ate at great restaurants recommended by the host. The house is SUPER CLEAN! Sheets smelled good. Beautiful surroundings and private. Host is very responsive and friendly.

We booked a last minute stay and Rose was very accommodating. The cottage is nice, and it has a great hot tub!

This place is awesome! It rained most of the time we were there, but with all the amenities there was plenty for us to do around the house. The dock is awesome, and it’s on a nice, quiet, spot on the lake. We hope to be back in the future!

I must say this was my first experience with ever staying in a Airbnb and wanted a change from a hotel and very glad we decided to give this a try. Tammy was an absolutely awesome host very responsive and a very nice lady. The description matches everything. Very beautiful property and very clean.

To sum it up, this is by far one of the nicest homes available that my family has stayed in on Hyco. This is the type of home you would expect to see on HGTV or Magnolia Network. This home does not feel like a rental home but more like a true getaway. The main road cut through a cattle pasture. We were greeted with roaming cows on our way in our out. We enjoyed this. Everyone in the neighborhood was friendly and there on Lake Time. You will spend the majority of your time outside if the weather permits. Between the large dock to enjoy the water, and the fire pit to watch the sunset, there will be little time spent inside if you come to enjoy Hyco. The house was in immaculate condition. It was furnished with everything one would need. Kathryn provided very clear and detailed instructions for the property. She also helped provide additional information for us trailering our boat there. Kathryn was a very gracious host. I hope to stay there in the future. Best Airbnb on Hyco.

This beautiful house is so eccentric and cool, we absolutely loved it. The outside patio and yard was gorgeously lit at night. The house was very clean and well stocked. We cooked family meals in the big kitchen and had all needed utensils, cookware & dishes. We really enjoyed playing pool and shuffleboard and soaking in the hot tub every night. We went out on the water with the paddle boards and also enjoyed fishing off the dock. The beach area is super cute!! This property is very private, peaceful & quiet. Our family of 8 had multiple devices and gaming systems using the wifi with no issues of lagging or buffering. We all enjoyed the movie room, playing video games, singing karaoke and watching movies. Everything worked properly as it should. All of us took a turn in the massage chair!! We fell in love with the pups Shadow & Wickett. Playing ball/fetch with Shadow was the highlight of our stay. Our host Erik was friendly and quickly answered our questions. Will definitely be back!

We enjoyed the amenities at the house. It had a really nice outdoor space. Lots of entertainment available in the game room. The house was clean, spaciuis and comfortable. Short drive to Shenandoah National park.

Great place 10 minutes from Busch Gardens. Very spacious bedrooms and common areas. Clean and equipped with all the necessities. My only “gripe” is I was expecting one king and one queen bed but got one king and two doubles. It wasn’t a big enough deal for us to request to be moved. Just be aware if that is a deal breaker for you.

This was a beautiful house with all the amenities and more. Very clean and beautifully decorated. Definitely a gem of a place and I would definitely stay again. Host was very responsive. Surrounding area was peaceful and very easy to find.

We stayed at Darwin’s beautiful and clean home for my son’s JMU graduation. We had plenty of space for all of us and we were very comfortable. Darwin is very responsive to any issue and the check in is very easy. I would easily recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, spacious, and quiet place to stay.

Ben’s place was lovely for our group! The living room is gorgeous, kitchen is well stocked, there is lots of bathrooms, and all the bedrooms were very cozy. The hot tub was also large and on a lovely patio. We enjoyed the fire pit and quiet surroundings on the deck as well.

The cabin on the lake was relaxing, comfortable and a great central place for allowing us to visit the historic Civil War battlefields in the area, Monticello and close enough to Washington D.C.to enjoy two days of sightseeing there. We enjoyed sitting on the rocking chairs on the cabin porch and watching the fishermen in their boats, the birds and especially the swan who came to visit us.

I feel like I walked straight into the pictures in this listing. It was a cozy cabin with a nice hot-tub and grill. We truly enjoyed watching the sunset from the porch while roasting smores over the fire table. We even watched the stars from the deck at night. 4wd/awd vehicle is definitely a must (traction not clearance) we were able to handle the driveway in a BMW sedan. Before we had even booked I asked Lindsey a question and she was extremely quick to respond. She was also prompt and helpful during our stay. 10/10 Hope to stay again. (Also if you hear sounds at night don’t get spooked it’s just deer LOL)

The wife and I took a 5 day vacation. for the first time alone in over 11 years. This cabin fit our needs exactly. It was secluded and allowed us privacy. The hot tub on the deck also allowed us to rekindle our marriage. We traveled Skyline Drive which was a short drive away. This location allowed us to easily get to all the local attractions like the various caverns and Civil War sites. Or you can just sit and relax at the cabin and enjoy the serenity. The host is super-responsive and answers all questions very quickly. She is laid-back with rules but does expect her property to be respected. We loved everything about this place.

Beautiful house conviently located near several wineries, breweries and hiking destinations. Crab tree falls is one of our favorites. House was perfect to come back to and soak in the private hot tub while sipping on a glass of wine from Hazy and enjoying the stars. Brad is a five star host.

Incredible long weekend at Sherilynn’s place. Ideal location nestled in the woods with private stream access, while close enough to town and hiking trails. The cabin was tastefully decorated, super clean and well furnished. Great communication throughout with her, highly recommend!

Highly recommend this spot! If you're looking for a chill place to relax with a friend, this is it. It feels like your own private hangout, almost like a treehouse vibe, but in a cozy cabin. Super peaceful, comfortable, and perfect for just unwinding or catching up. We had an awesome time here and would definitely come back. If you want something low-key, personal, and memorable, this is the place.

We had a really nice time at the cabin. Everything was laid out very nicely and was ready for us the moment we arrived. The space is beautiful and right on the lake. It was extremely peaceful to sit in the large screened deck and hang out with the stunning lake in view. Hope to stay here again some day!

My family and I loved this air bnb! It was private, clean and had everything that we needed. Loved the fire pit and the hot tub, beds were comfy and towels were soft. Great communication with the owners. If you are looking for a nice get away with lots of privacy and to be able to relax this place is it! If we are ever in the area again would love to stay in this beautiful cabin in the woods.

We were looking for a cabin, hoping to find a quiet place to rest, relax and recharge in nature. We never dreamed that we would find an authentic 18th century cabin located in the forest on a mountain top - with an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. The inside of the cabin was beautifully furnished as would be expected in colonial Virginia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the experience of stepping back in time.
