It is about 2 km to the dike edge, 1 km to the baker (Rysum), 11 km to other shopping (Pewsum) or 12 km (Emden) The Tidehuus is a good starting point for extensive bike tours in East Frisia.

So, we still have a picture of what shopping felt like until the 1980s: there was everything for everyday needs, you could write a letter and find out the latest. Thus, our vacation home is a stony witness to the everyday history of East Frisia.
