“We had a lovely stay in Ana’s cottage. We had such a warm welcome by Ana’s Mother ( who spoke much better English than our Spanish ) and she showed us around with much pride of their family home. The open fire was welcomed on the few chilly January nights we had and we made use of the garden sun loungers to catch the last of the warm afternoon sun. The kitchen was well equipped, like a home away from home. The avocados from the tree in the garden were delicious, as were the views up to Teide. The rural setting, only a 10 minute walk ( downhill ) to La Orotava ( a lovely town ) meant that it was peaceful yet interesting with lots of local wildlife. It was only a short drive ( or bus ) up to La Caldera, from which point we did some fantastic walking in the pine forest. We would have no hesitation returning next time we visit Tenerife.”
