Holiday rentals with a fire pit in La Plata County

THIS IS THE HOUSE YOU WANT IN DURANGO. Our family absolutely loved this house. Host left us a generous welcome basket, which was wonderful to receive after driving all day to get to our destination. We loved that it was private, yet an easy 15 min drive to downtown Durango. Kids loved seeing the many animals around the property - marmots, chipmunks, deer. We hiked the trail behind the home and enjoyed the hot tub every night. It was rainy for most of the week we visited, so we were glad we chose a big house with plenty of space, good TV options and games/puzzles on site. Kitchen was the most-well-stocked we’ve ever experienced in an Airbnb and we loved that. All the tools you need to cook from scratch, plus condiments. Finally, a host who isn’t stingy with the dishwasher pods and extra TP! All showers worked well. Washer/dryer worked well. They let you use the garage! We will definitely be back. If this house were to go on the market we’d be interested. That’s how much we loved it.

We stayed at this beautiful home in Hesperus, Colorado for a family reunion, and it was absolutely perfect. The place was clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The peaceful surroundings and stunning views added so much to our stay. Our entire family felt comfortable and right at home. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a relaxing and scenic getaway! The host, Connie was great with communication which made our stay a breeze.

If you want a place to yourself but still close enough to town, this is the place to stay at! It was quiet, the dogs were able to run around safely within the yard, and my family enjoyed every part of our stay here. Lauren is responsive and she’s made staying at her Airbnb memorable and comfortable. Choose here if you’re in Durango, you won’t regret it 😁

Words just simply cannot do this location or this family justice. Lynda was the best host we have had over the past seven years we’ve been using Airbnb‘s. My husband, myself, our son and his wife all stayed and we absolutely loved this place as well as the setting. We saw mule deer every day that we were there in the vicinity. The valley is just the most peaceful place but yet it’s so close to town. The beds are comfortable, the antique soaker tub was great after a long day hiking, and you can’t beat the view if you just want to rest and restore. You have the best of both worlds. It’s a great location to take the train to Silverton and also go to Mesa Verde. Lynda is the kindest most helpful host we have had the pleasure of meeting. We would love to return one day and experience this lovely space again.

The property is beautiful and we were able to paddle board, fish, and hike all three days. The Barn had everything we needed, the amenities were great, and I loved the design and layout of the space. It was the perfect peaceful getaway that was still close enough for a couple of visits into Durango. It was also a great place to stay with our dogs! We can’t wait to book another stay.

Susan is an amazing host. Super friendly and responsive. Kids enjoyed interacting with her as much as my wife and I. Her place is best described as ‘warm’ and family friendly. We felt right at home from the first minute. The chickens in the back yard were a BIG hit with our children and the fresh eggs every morning a massive bonus. The loft for the kids offered them some space of their own and the master bedroom and bathroom were super cozy and spacious. Lastly, the kitchen was very well supplied with everything we needed to cook - top notch.

We had a fantastic stay! The house was incredibly comfortable and well-stocked with everything (and more!) you could possibly need. The views were absolutely beautiful—so peaceful and scenic. We especially loved relaxing in the hot tub after a day of exploring. Would definitely stay again!

We are an older active couple and Durango was a lovely town to spend a week in. Kayaking, the train to Silverton and so much more to fill your time. Donna’s home is perfectly located to just about everything. It gave us just want we needed. We liked relaxing in the Ash tree grove, & being near Animas River and the train tracks. Millie the cat kept us sweet company.

My girlfriend and I loved our stay at Kristen’s condo! I personally think it’s even nicer in person than what they’re able to depict in the pictures. The area was gorgeous, peaceful, and comfy. The club property that it’s in also has so much to it; we took advantage of the gym, got some gelato from one of the restaurants, and took a walk on the huge property. It was a little chilly in the apartment when we went (but not terribly so / winter conditions) and so it was a little confusing figuring out how to get the bedroom specifically comfortable temp wise for us. There’s a lot of blankets to use that solved the situation for us though. The bed was also very comfy! But everything else was great!

First time visiting Durango and this place was perfect. The place was clean, comfortable and in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood. Plus it was a short drive to lots of hiking and getting to the town center. I would definitely stay again.

If you want a place to relax, this is it. Lesley is a wonderful host and her home is exactly what it looks like in the photos and it's beautiful and clean and wonderful. She responds quickly to questions and her home is clean and bright. Don't pass up a chance to stay there!

This is the best place to stay at Purgatory Resort. Ski-in Ski-out is an understatement. Literally, skied right to ski lift. I would recommend staying here every trip to Purgatory Resort. Kris is always helpful in every aspect.

This is a darling location! The furnishings were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with condiments, spices and great cooking utensils and pots and pans. The hot tub was clean and used both the nights we were there. Both Mike and Elle's suggestions about area activities was very helpful. The marina across the street has great service for rentals. Oh, did I mention the delicious coffee cake, snacks and OJ left for our enjoyment? It was a truly one of our favorite places to stay!

This place is amazing, absolutely beautiful and very homey inside. Would definitely come back in the future

I had SUCH a wonderful stay at James and Kims' lovely cabin. It was adorable and comfortable. Close enough to town to easily pop in for groceries and such but still had that wonderful "away from it all" feeling. The cabin is located on a beautiful property with a gorgeous stream running right behind it and beautiful views of the mountains all around. James and Kim were extremely helpful, responsive, and kind. Can't recommend this place enough!

If you would like to be close to town yet far enough away to enjoy nature this place is Ideal. The sauna is amazing and the property is nothing short of amazing as well. I highly recommend this stay. There is plenty of room to accommodate a large group and still feel comfortable.

We totally enjoyed our stay at Bear's Den. It is everything we usually look for in a place to stay. Beautiful location. CLEAN. Well maintained. And allowed our pups to stay with us. It was a little small for the 6 of us....but overall worked out well. The back deck was my favorite and we enjoyed eating and relaxing on the deck. The nearby lake was really fun to take a rental boat and explore. We also visited Mesa Verde and took the grandchildren on the Durango Silverton train. We would highly recommend Bear's Den. If you want a cozy comfortable cabin to stay in, this is the place. Beds were extremely comfortable. The scenery is GORGEOUS! The closer we got to being there, the more excited we were! Simply beautiful and peaceful. Fantastic star gazing at night. Just wow.

Beautiful and cozy cabin, I will recommend to anyone visiting the area. The cabin was clean and had everything you could think of accessible if needed. Anne was very responsive and great with communication. We really enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful, cozy cabin that was very clean and well-kept. We had everything we needed including plenty of towels and washcloths. Gary was an attentive, excellent host and the location was very convenient to Durango. One of the best places we have stayed!

Our family LOVED staying at Heather's cozy cabin by Vallecito Reservoir! We kept saying how beautiful and peaceful it was. The communication back and forth was top notch! The cabin was very comfortable and absolutely beautiful! We will absolutely be back! Thank you Heather and Kyle!
