Monthly Rentals in Maberly

Stayed in early spring. Lots of books, games, movies to entertain. Internet was fast and reliable. Wood stove kept the cottage cozy. To cold to swim etc. Parents with small children be aware the path to the lake is steep with no railing. Overall loved the stay. Planning another in the fall.

This is a lovely and tranquil spot, a favourite that we’ve returned to three times now. There are plenty of places to hike through nature nearby and there’s even great takeout food just a few minutes drive away. Our nights were filled with stars and the sounds of coyotes and owls. Our days were graced with soaring eagles, chipmunks and deer. Cherry Ann is a great host who makes sure the cabin is pristine for all the guests, and is responsive to our needs. We are already planning our return next year.

We stayed for a quick weekend getaway to get some R&R. Joe's place was just what we needed. Everything we needed and nothing we didn't. The cabin is tiny, as advertised, but we travel light so it was no problem for us. Lots of outdoor space to enjoy, and Sharbot Lake is a quick 10 min down the highway. The outdoor shower at the site is THE BEST - nature at your back and hot water on demand. The composting toilet was a little daunting at first, but Joe provides super clear instructions and it turned out to be the best campsite bathroom of all time. We'll be going back next time we need a break from traffic and skyscrapers.

This cabin is a magical place. Close to Perth for access to town amenities, but feels like another world hidden in the forest, so quiet all you hear is the birds. The cabin is as adorable as pictured, with lots of nice little creative touches like the carved walking stick on the deck. The bed is comfy, the wood stove worked beautifully to keep the cabin cozy, and the foot pump sink worked fine for washing dishes etc. We didn’t try the outdoor shower, but I will say the outhouse was the cleanest and cutest we’ve ever used! We were glad we brought our own lawn chairs since the wooden chairs on the deck were damp from the rain, but otherwise everything we needed was provided, including a canoe and 2 kayaks for gorgeous quiet evening paddles on Christie Lake, just a short walk down the road. David was quick to answer questions but we really had no issues. Would definitely book again!
