Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Monterey Bay

Great place to stretch out and relax, with so much natural light that we rarely needed to turn on the overhead lights. We enjoyed cozying up in front of the fireplace and hanging out on the back porch. The well-stocked kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. The house is in a lovely neighborhood with an easy walk to the beach. Easy to access the heart of town on foot or by car. My only note would be to bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper, as one of the bedrooms is next to a busy road.

We stayed at this house for one night and it was one of the best nights we had on this road trip. The house is very nice and clean and full of amenities that made us feel like home! We love the golf simulator as well and it kept me and my kids busy for a while!! It also has a nice ocean view from the window and makes this place even better! The hose is super responsive and even gifted us a bottle of wine!! I would highly recommend and come back again!

The copper nest was a great place to stay for our long weekend trip. It was ideally situated 30mins drive from UCSC. The beach house exceeded our expectations, and comfortably accommodated 8 guests. All aspects had been thought about by the host, from the detailed text messages pre arrival through to the prevision of supplies, saving the immediate necessity to go basic food shopping. The house was pleasantly furnished with high end product and the beds were so comfortable. The state beach (only foot steps away) was so peaceful, with barely a sole on this stretch. My husband and I stayed for a couple nights with our 1 1/2 and almost 4 year old boys. The place was so welcoming and perfect for little kids. Right away we felt at home. The boys had so much fun with their toys! The beds were comfortable and the place was super clean and well home was well stocked. Sean had reached out to us to make sure we had everything we needed and to offer any recommendations for local restaurants and things to do. We would definitely stay here again!

I found Dimitra's place from searching local spots to the Carmel area. Her reviews were exceptional from other guests and I booked based on the feedback of others. I now join that group of exceptionally satisfied guests. First, the host. Dimitra was immediately responsive and gave several options for my specific stay. I wanted a place I could trailer a motorcycle and be able to store the trailer in a safe place for the weekend. She gave me very detailed instructions on, not only that, but where we could ride, what the weather would be like, and spots around town we should check out. The "treehouse" was perfectly clean, incredibly welcoming, warm and decorated with friendly messaging, making us feel right at home. The private entrance was nice and you are greeted by two of the nicest dogs you could imagine, securely behind a fence. The living space was more than accommodating for our needs and centrally located for plenty of entertainment. We were there in fawning season too!

A million Mahalos Vic and Leanne. We had an amazing time at your place in the Redwoods. First I want to say WOW, not only was this place clean, it was spotless. We felt like we were the first people who've ever stepped foot in the air bnb. Vic and Leanne had everything thing we needed and beyond. They really took their time when they put this place together. Their kitchen is fully stocked with everything we needed to put our meals together and the grocery store was only a few minutes away. Via and Leanne also had a ton of wonderful tips in their welcome binder. The prime location of Vic and Leanne's place made daily trips to Henry Cowell state park a must. Vic and Leanne are amazing hosts who made my family feel welcome and right at home. This place is heaven in the Redwoods for sure. Aloha Vic and Leanne!

Our stay was wonderful. Our two girls especially did not want to leave. Everything was so comfortable and clean, we loved the toys and books, and the projector set up. The architecture and remodeling was beautiful. Appreciate the lack of tacky artwork on the walls. Tracie and Dave were such generous hosts. Hope to be back, thank you!

This is a terrific place to stay in Pacific Grove! It is across the street from a Trader Joe's and great restaurants and a 5-minute drive to the aquarium/cannery row. Carolyn has thought of everything--from providing a welcome basket to stocking games and puzzles--to make the stay comfortable. We especially appreciated the comfy sofa and beds, along with access to laundry, after walking around all day. I cannot recommend this place more!

I would surely book this place again. The place was very comfortable and had everything we needed, including laundry facilities. The location was great for walking and also a easy close drive to Nicene Marks Forest for a lovely hike. Communication was very pleasant and quick. Loved this stay.

This spot was great for a weekend getaway! Right at the start of Lighthouse Ave where all the shops and restaurants are located. We were able to walk to the beach as well which was lovely. My partner and I felt extremely safe walking around at night as well. The space was very clean and cozy. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Monterey area. We’ll definitely be back as well:)

My husband and I recently stayed in “Fancy Free by the Sea”. It met all of our needs. I loved the way it was decorated and it felt very homey. We appreciated the filtered water in the refrigerator and the available coffee, although we purchased our coffees in town. All in all, very cute, very relaxing space. I would stay there again. I gave it 5 stars.

The house is off the beach but a 2 min walk to the coast. We really enjoyed walking to restaurants and stores in Pacific Grove. Very short, easy drive to Asimolar State Beach and the Monterrey Aquarium.

This is a lovely place in the trees. The space was as pictured and described in the listing. Everything was comfortable, clean and the host was quite welcoming. I would recommend this space to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the trees.

Well-stocked, simply furnished bungalow-type attached residence in the Seabright neighborhood, convenient to the northeastern residential sections of Santa Cruz and to supermarkets and natural food stores. Many new, easy-to-operate small appliances and good laundry set-up. Ample kitchenware and condiments. Quiet city surroundings, easy parking. Overall, staying at the unit (and interacting with owner) was a pleasure.

The studio is well laid out and has high quality cabinets and furniture. It had the best stocked kitchen we have seen in an Airbnb. The views were very nice. The skylights were great. So much natural light. Parking on the street was OK. Definitely hope to stay again.

This house was a beautiful and it provides easy access to everything that Pacific Grove and Monterrey had to offer. When you walked into the house, it felt like home. Most importantly, Jane was the perfect host. She is always available to make your stay enjoyable. Everything we needed was there. I love sitting in the living room sofa and enjoying the great views. I loved the outside fire pit for those cold days when you wanted to sit and watch the world go by and to watch the seals sleeping across the street. You could not do any better than this place. Wonderful condo nestled in the Pajaro Dunes Resort. We traveled with two elementary aged kids and they had a fantastic time. A great family getaway. We brought our own groceries and there was plenty of amenities in the kitchen for eating in every meal. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach and beautiful views from the inside as well. We appreciated having the beach chairs & tennis items. The resort recreation area was a lot of fun and we spent several hours there. Comfortable beds and upgraded furnishings. Overall, a fantastic experience and we can’t wait to return again someday.

This stay is absolutely amazing. Comfy bed and furniture. Stocked Kitchen. Steps to the beach. Closet full of beachy things. We had fun flying the kite. Built bonfires just over the dune on the beach. 🏖️ Don’t hesitate to book. This place is it.

Staying at this Airbnb was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and thoughtfulness—fresh local flowers, many beautiful books related to the neighborhood in reading material. The space was immaculately clean, beautifully designed, with everything I could need—toiletries to fast Wi-Fi .The host went above and beyond, checking in to ensure everything was perfect. It felt less like a rental and more like a five-star boutique hotel with the heart of a home. I truly didn’t want to leave!” This is a real heartfelt space in the middle of my home town that provided the soulful connection to home.

Everything was just as described - kitchen was well stocked and had the staples which I appreciated - plenty of coffee too! Beach location was wonderful - 5 out of 5!

We had a wonderful stay in Aptos! Hosts were very helpful, responsive, and flexible. You can tell they take great care of the house and think of all the details and amenities a visitor might need. Although we didn’t use the kitchen and bbq, everything you might need is there. The beds were very comfortable as well. The view is breathtaking, we even saw whales! It’s the perfect location to local restaurants, coffee spots, and grocery stores. Very close to Santa Cruz without the hustle and bustle. My family would definitely recommend and stay here again.

We’ve stayed at Pajaro Dunes before, but it’s been decades ago. Marc’s place was perfectly situated for privacy and views and was very clean and well appointed. The peacefulness and serenity were exactly what we were looking for. The beachy feel of the furnishings was charming and the unit included all that we needed including an upgraded and well furnished kitchen, a gas fireplace, a comfortable, king size bed and other essentials like extra blankets and a Kuerig coffee maker. Our only difficulty was when inadvertently trying to use the TV remote to change channels…Don’t Do That, Use the cable remote like it says in the instructions. Spent a thoroughly enjoyable four days here with side trips to Monterey and Carmel. Perfect home base for dining out and exploring the coast, and an excellent, proactive host.

As described, great location walkable easily to shops/restaurants/beach. Quiet location and thoughtful extras like makeup removal wipes, qtips, and popcorn.

Thank you so much Rhea for allowing my family to enjoy this gem! The reviews spoke about the views but wow, incredible! You can literally see up the coast line on both sides. The condo was clean, had enough to accommodate a family of five! We were able to cook our meals every night without a problem. The pool is just a few steps up which my youngest definitely appreciated. We are already missing waking up to the sounds of the ocean! If we’re ever in the area we would be so lucky to book this place again.
