Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Nantahala Lake

Very private location. Peaceful getaway. Not so far from town that running to the grocery is a chore, nor too far from great hikes. Our medium sized dog enjoyed the fenced in yard and we all sunbathed on the deck. Will stay again!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The location was perfect—just a short walk to town, which we took advantage of multiple times a day. We explored nearby gems like Black Rock State Park, Tallulah Falls, Brasstown Bald, Minnehaha Falls (the drive there around Lake Rabun was stunning), and both Panther and Angel Falls. After long days of hiking, it was such a treat to soak our tired legs in the stream and then unwind in the hot tub. The beds were incredibly comfortable, probably the best I’ve had at an Airbnb. We’re so glad we chose this spot!

Absolutely perfect. We stayed for the week with our five kids (6,4,3, & 1 year old twins) and had an amazing family vacation. The space worked perfectly for our needs as a large family with small kids and the beach area was especially perfect for toddler playtime. The waterfall across the way was stunning and we loved boating around, fishing, swimming, fires by the lake, and rainy evenings in the hot tub. Such an amazing place for families!

We had the best weekend at the cottage. Easy, quick drive to downtown highlands. Some highlights - The pizza oven was great for making pizzas, grill was fantastic for grilling steaks, fire pit for s’mores and the Hot tub was used several times. The kids loved the bunk room. The house was beautifully decorated and we felt right at home. We hope to be back soon!

We had a great, albeit too short time at Jan’s home. I live in AVL and this is my first time at Lake Santeetlah, and we loved it! The house is in a cove and has an empty lot next door, which meant for a verrry quiet two nights. It would be ideal for 1-2 couples or a small family. We took advantage of the paddleboards and explored some nearby coves on an almost empty lake, which was wonderful. Next time we might rent a pontoon. We also lucked out and saw synchronous fireflies both nights! Magical. I definitely recommend to folks who would expect to spend most time outside or on water and aren’t expecting a fancy party house. PS GPS will wrongly route you. Turn into Forest Lakes. The house number is correct.

Joan's place had everything! I've stayed at over 65 Airbnbs and this was definitely in the top 3. if you have the luck of finding it's available, just book it!

Fantastic place to relax on the lake! The view is beautiful and if you have a boat, it is convenient to dock the boat and take a boat ride whenever you would like. The full deck in the back is great to use while enjoying coffee or reading a book. Super clean and comfortable. Just be aware the driveway is a little steep and is gravel. No problem driving a car up, but hauling a boat on the driveway can be an issue. Overall a relaxing experience!

Nick is an absolutely wonderful host, and the house is just beyond incredible. The view is AMAZING, and you can see the attention to detail all over the home as well. The smore kit and fire starters were so thoughtful too! Thank you Nick for an incredible stay and a wonderful menory 🙏 I will most definitely be back. The sunset is a must see as well from the deck!!!!

Don was so helpful and kind. He and Renie truly go more than above and beyond! The apartment was lovely with an incredible view. It was extremely clean and well stocked. It felt private and peaceful the entire time. The hot tub was very relaxing, and loved the spacious shower as well. The beds were so comfortable. We appreciated our parting gift and assistance with our luggage. We cannot wait until next time!

We loved the location of this Airbnb! It was walking distance to so many cute shops and restaurants. We loved how spacious the apartment was and the parking was very convenient. It felt safe and cozy and the apartment was close to Tallulah Gorge which is why we were in town. The thrift store and chocolate shop up the street are definitely worth checking out during your stay!

This cute little downstairs apartment was perfect for our anniversary trip! It’s a great space for two people to relax and enjoy each other’s company. We spent our mornings on the porch swing drinking coffee and at night would head into town to eat at the recommended restaurants. The place was cute, homey, and had amazing views of the mountains!

Kela was amazing. Responsive, helpful, accommodating, just an absolutely fantastic experience. The place is huge, clean, and literally across the street from everything downtown. This is a can't miss experience if you're going to Bryson City.

This is at least my 3rd time visiting David's place. Amazingly peaceful, comfortable, restful spot. I knew I would get the peace I needed. You would never know they are upstairs, unless you wanted to chat. This is a mountainside gem.

What a great place to stay in Bryson City. MooseLodge was an exceptional place and our family loved staying there for three nights in June. The kids were sad to go! Sean has made sure that the place has so many thoughtful things left in it, and the bathroom is like a spa experience with included sauna. The place is just outside the main town, but only a 2-3 min drive away; lovely and quiet. It's also very close to DeepCreek which is super for hiking and tubing down the river.

We got a chance to speak with Lisa as she was unloading groceries when we arrived. She was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and hospitable!! Her place was beautiful, clean, and had an amazing view! We would recommend her and her place to anyone! 100% worth the money- we LOVED our night here!!

Great value, and the deep creek entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is literally 5 minutes away. We went there every morning, and we never hiked the same route once. Very cool.

Gary's place was so quiet and peaceful. we enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the golfers come through. Would definitely stay here again.

Jennifer was a great host and her condo was perfectly situated in Sky Valley. It looked recently remodeled and the entire condo was spotless. The tub and bathroom was so clean, as well as the bedding, living room, kitchen, you name it. We loved our stay here and loved that it was quiet & peaceful, but not totally secluded. My husband and I felt really comfortable in the condo and enjoyed our time overall there. We didn’t super LOVE the sleep we got on the bed, but we prefer softer mattresses and sleeping on a king size bed, so I think that contributed to it. It felt like a great quality mattress though and I think others would love it. Loved this condo & I would stay here again if I get the opportunity!

The condo was perfect for my husband and I. He played golf, I hiked. Close to restaurants in town! The condo was beautifully designed and clean.

This Young Harris condo was a great stay for our family while participating in a wedding that was at the Brasstown Valley Resort a few minutes away (nice golf course there too). This condo was a perfect home base for us and we loved the large deck, the lake and mountain views and the proximity to the resort and other sites around Young Harris and Hiawassee, like the Crane Creek Winery and Bell Mountain Park (VERY steep drive not for every car or driver, but spectacular views ... we even saw a bald eagle). Amy and Kyle were great communicators and had very good suggestions. The kitchen was particularly well stocked and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again and would love to explore the area more. I will note that the 4th bedroom, which is well described in the listing, really is more of a sun room, but would be a perfect "bedroom" for 1 or 2 children. We did not use the room, but the window views of the lake and mountains in it are the best in the condo.

Darlene was a great host and the house was excellent. we We enjoyed the views and privacy. the pontoon boat sunset cruise was enjoyable and the activities were good. we were disappointed in the meal at the lodge and lack of walking paths around the reserve. the narrow winding roads made the impossible to walk.

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The views from the house are incredible. It is very peaceful. The place was clean. Nina was very helpful and responsive when needed. We used the pool and hot tub, which was a short walk down the driveway. I highly recommend this place if you’re visiting the area!

We absolutely loved our stay here! We came with our 4 year old and our teenager. Both of them had a great time and had plenty of things to do that they both enjoyed, which is not usually the case with their age gap. The place itself had lots of toys and books for my toddler and her own bed. There were also games to play with my teenager as well. The kitchen was fully stocked and the house had all the little details like beach towels, an airfryer, and a picnic basket. The screened porch was a favorite location for all us to enjoy. We even saw a bear one day from the porch! The resort was a blas!. We utilized both in the indoor and outdoor pools, the mini golf, and the lake. We had no problem finding good food at the restaurants around us and the store was super close as well. We spent half of our time at the resort and half of it out exploring the nature surrounding us. There were sooo many waterfalls to see. It is such a beautiful area, we will most definitely be coming back!

The place was so beautiful, clean, and spacious. The neighborhood was so friendly and quiet. We cannot wait to visit again!
