Guesthouse holiday rentals in Ottawa River

We totally loved the experience. Awesome to get away from city life and enjoy a true simple living (and everything that comes with it -- wood stove, outhouse, bringing and heating water for all your needs, etc.) Would love to enjoy it again and recommend to everyone who understands this style of vacation/recreation. Very nice cabin in a peaceful and quiet treed area. A small river on the property just steps away. The place and the area still offer a good deal of civilized life for those who do not want to disconnect completely: neighbouring properties are not that far away, there's relatively short drive to the highway, electric lighting and a socket in the kitchen). So it's a very good balance overall. Carine was a wonderful host. Unintrusive but always there for our questions/needs. Thank you so much, Carine!

Lyn and Peter were amazing hosts for our family of 4 (two adults plus two kids, ages 9&6.) Lyn greeted us at check-in, but gave us privacy after that, and was super quick to respond to texts on the rare occasion we had a question. The boathouse was as described with even more amenities than listed and more spacious and beautiful than the pictures could do justice. The place is immaculate with careful thought and detail into every little decoration and little touches (e.g. a basket in the bedroom with bug spray, package toothbrush, etc. for any forgotten items.) We felt completely at home in the boathouse and enjoyed the beautiful views from the upstairs deck and dock, where we spent the majority of our time. We all loved taking out the SUPs that were there for our use and it was a quick drive into town to visit Don’s Bakery (IYKYK), Splash Island, and the ski show on Tuesday night. Highly recommend the boathouse for your next Muskoka stay! Lyn’s hospitality is 10/10.

Lisa’s cottage was exactly as advertised. She made sure to answer any inquiries and the property was wonderful for relaxing by the lake on the gazebo. Our fishing trip was fun and the access to the dock was very easy. The cottage was perfect for our stay and had everything needed for a nice stay on the lake. Lisa checked in with us a few times to ensure everything was fine and even provided a short history of the lake. Highly recommended cottage and we hope to return next year! Thanks again!

Beautiful and cozy cabin in St. Hippolyte surrounded by peaceful nature—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The cabin was spotless, well-equipped, and had great outdoor space . The host was exceptional, going above and beyond with thoughtful touches, clear communication, and genuine care. Highly recommend for a tranquil stay with amazing hospitality! My 83-year-old mom, my sister and I had a fantastic weekend at David and Wendy’s property: The accommodations were impeccable, they provided everything we could possibly need, and their recommendations for visiting the area were excellent. As much as we enjoyed Huntsville and area, the highlight of our visit was savouring our time on the home’s lovely porch and enjoying the view of the garden and birds

The cottage was perfect (there were just a lot of weird noises in the house at night, the hot tub motor or something). Real was great. The surroundings are beautiful, full of beautiful hikes.

We really enjoyed our stay, the cottage was comfy and had everything we needed. The setup and sandy shoreline/shallow waterfront is ideal for a family with young children. Holly lent us some kayaks and a paddle board and the kids had an absolute blast with those. The folks next door gave us plenty of privacy but were approachable, helpful and just all-around nice people. Thanks for a great vacation, Holly and crew!

My family all enjoyed their stay at this homey cottage. Loved the close proximity to the river. The back yard, being fully fenced, was great for our dog. We enjoyed a nice fire in the fire pit outside in the evening. The kitchen & bathroom were clean & fully stocked with everything we needed. The neighbour’s were very friendly, the hot tub was relaxing & Pierre was very quick to respond to my questions.

Surrounded by nature - the trees and stars added to the perfect weekend reprieve we were looking for, and received. Hot tub, wood burning stove... couldn't have asked for anything more. Tasha and Shane were such thoughtful and responsive hosts, giving us a plethora of helpful info in regards to all the sights and activities nearby. In the end, we just hunkered down and enjoyed the cozy space they created. Thanks again, Tasha and Shane, for sharing your charming A-frame and peaceful property!

fantastic little place. Rene and Deacon were great hosts ! Access to the lake was greatly appreciated when the weather is so hot! Kayaks and all amenities were also available. recommend the little Bunkie.

A great stay. The cottage we rented was under construction. Marc André was able to offer us a perfect alternative. The place is sublime, the cottage very comfortable and the welcome impeccable.

Martin’s place is great, we highly recommend it! Everything you need available (including a jacuzzy, high-performance a/c, BBQ, TV with cable for rainy days, options for watersports, etc). Will be back one day for certain.

This is such a cute, comfortable and well appointed accommodation. The sofa and bed are so comfortable. It has all the amenities needed for a visit to North Bay. Very peaceful setting. Will definitely stay here again. The host is friendly and so helpful. Grateful for all the amenities!

Small cabin didn’t feel small for our group of four. Well maintained, private property. Felt serene. Listing was accurate. We had full use of the yard, kayaks, SUP, dock etc. We picked this property for the close proximity to whitewater rafting experience and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor spaces. Host was there to greet us, friendly and helpful. Quite hot during our stay so we didn’t use the hot tub but took advantage of being right on the water. Very good for swimming and paddling. Cabin decor was charming and had all that we needed (except a toaster). 5 stars!

All the previous good reviews are correct. By far the best Airbnb experience we have ever had, and we have been to many. Absolutely gorgeous. Everything was superlative. Thank you very much Tori and Adrian. Wee will be back for sure!

I stayed here for 21 days and had such a wonderful experience. The place was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for a long stay. It truly felt like a home. What really made the stay extra special were the hosts. They were incredibly kind, responsive, and thoughtful throughout my entire visit. Whether it was answering questions quickly or going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable, they were always there when needed. The neighbourhood was peaceful and convenient, with everything I needed close by. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay, and I’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a longer-term rental with amazing hosts.

We had a great stay at Mark's cabin, close to Huntsville. The neighbourhood is nice an quiet and Algonquin Provincial Park is easily reachable. The kitchen equipment is great and the living room very cozy. We would definitely book again!

We had a great stay at Kazi’s place and there was plenty of space for the 17 of us! Each room having its own bathroom definitely made it easy for everyone to be comfortable. There were lots to do in the area and would highly recommend this place!

This is a 10+ stay in the heart of Hintonburg. Great location and beautiful interior! Will definitely stay again if the opportunity comes again!

We stayed for one night only, but definitely would be staying there longer if we had to. Very clean and modern design. Loved the carpet that was really comfortable to walk on.

We really enjoyed our stay. Very convenient, dock space abvaialble. Really set up for a fishing stay. Make sure that the NY fishing regulations are checked before you plan a stay as there are special regs. on the St. Lawrence River. Definitely a great place on the river. Host reponsive, but afforded guest privacy.

Monica and Richard were there to welcome us and helped us with all the little things. Bbq and fire pit were already ready to go and we enjoyed our stay at their place.
