L'escalier monumental et la façade sont classés aux monuments historiques. Il donne immédiatement sur la place des Lices et permet de profiter du marché le samedi matin, des bars et des restaurants qui l'environnent. Il se trouve à 5 minutes à pieds de la place et du métro Sainte Anne, et à 10 minutes du parlement.
