From here there are 15 minutes to Flúðir, 30 minutes to Þjórsárdalur and within 45 minutes to Geysir, Gullfoss and þingvellir Nationalpark. Check in is very easy, a keybox outside the door. The Mountain Villa was fabulous - all 8 of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were very well equipped and perfect for our needs. The sulphur smelling showers took a bit of getting used to but overall everything worked well including the sauna and hot tub. We even enjoyed playing with the a few games in the garden. We also loved sitting in the glass dome in the evenings - another fabulous feature of the house. Very highly recommended as a base to relax and to explore this amazing country!!

I cannot say enough about how incredible our stay was here, and how above and beyond the hosts went. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a beautiful, private getaway. Seeing how pretty the place looked in the pictures, I booked this spot to bring my fiancé to after proposing to her on the south coast. The hosts were kind enough to pick up decorations that I ordered from a nearby post office, and decorate the place beautifully well in time before I brought her there. They were extremely communicative in the weeks leading up to my stay, and put so much time, care, and attention to detail into the decorations while asking for nothing in return. In addition, the place was absolutely spotless and clean throughout. If you're looking for a serene stay with stunning views, cleaned to the highest standard, with extremely friendly and responsive hosts, this is your place.

Gorgeous, warm and welcoming home. Loved taking my shoes off to the underfloor heating and coming in on a cold day. The views were amazing especially from the hot tub and from inside some beautiful sun rises (luckily at this time of year 8.00 +) Well equipped kitchen and bathroom with plenty of natural light. Great location for travelling. Especially close to Kerid crater, gullfoss and the geysir and secret Lagoon. Definitely suit a family of younger children with the swings, trampoline and space to run about (mines are too cool to do that now)
