Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Santa Maria del Focallo

Highly recommended, If you like space, freedom, a friendly host and privacy. This was the perfect base for us to then visit the beautiful beaches and discover the area. Less than 10/12 min from the beach and return to a detached house with great views. We stayed here in mid-June. In terms of temperature, it was just possible to do this at night. We as Dutch people might have found it too hot in August. All in all a great place that is worth more than your money. 10/10!

It was a little gem in beautiful Scicli! Away from the centre, in a secluded little street where cars were not allowed. Beautiful scenery in front of us, peaceful and only 10 minutes walking from everything. The house was clean and very sweetly decorated. Chiara was a great host, answered to every question very quickly and gave us some useful information.

We stayed at Villadamuri for 10 days in June with a group of friends. The house is in a unique location on the beautiful and private Amber Beach, where the water is warmer than on other beaches. The house is perfect for a group of friends and offers all the comforts of a vacation home. A special thanks to the owners Viviana and Orazio, always ready to satisfy every need. We'll definitely be back. Monica and Corrado and friends!

Our stay at Salvatore’s place was absolutely perfect. It’s one of the best Airbnbs I’ve stayed at in all of Italy, and definitely the best one in Sicily. It’s beautiful, well-equipped, and incredibly well-located. There’s parking just a 3-minute walk away and plenty of food options nearby. It’s close to all the main attractions, and Salvatore communicates very well. I’ll definitely be back!

The place is a gem, perfect for a couple getaway. The view is amazing, and location quite close to the center (just a lot of steps 😅). Would totally recommend, if you’re not afraid of the stairs in Modica.

Great house to spend holiday with family, well suited for all of us 9 . Giuseppe and Graziella, met us and introduced to the house, very friendly and helpful hosts. House has all necessary for a nice holiday to feel at home, pleased to find cold water in the fridge, nice sweet grapes, pasata and pasta for a quick lunch in the cupboard, tea and all other basics to cook like home. Coffe machine did not work on first day, but hosts were very responsive and brought their own, they even bought us the coffee pods, very generous of them, thank you we really appreciated . Well located for a beach holiday, only 7 min walk to a wonderful long sandy beach. We were out of season apparently and no restaurants nearby on walking distance, but not an issue as we had a car and many around within 10-15 min drive.

Great location for people who want to relax without the crowds. Silence. You can only hear the sound of the waves. 2 minutes to a wide, sandy and beautiful beach. You can also find a good restaurant there. The holiday home itself is very nice and spacious. It is sufficiently equipped, although wine glasses and at least one beer mug would be useful :) Other advantages include efficient air conditioning and fast internet. The surroundings of the house are very nicely maintained. Everything is well-kept. And finally, the owners - Kora and Paolo are very nice and communicative. We send them our warmest regards. It was a very successful holiday :)

Great place and hosts

Anna’s apartment is superb. It’s huge and traditional and a real treat. 3 huge comfy bedrooms and 3 big bathrooms. We stayed a week and my husband and teens kept saying “this place is so great!” The view of the water and fountain from the front rooms is incredible. You can sip coffee as you watch the local fisherman start their day. The location is ideal. We walked around the corner to the fresh market for breakfast and supplies every morning. The narrower streets of old town and the Apollo Temple are short blocks away. Hosts were helpful and responsive & I appreciated the little things that were left for us like coffee pods and really lovely shower soaps. We had a great stay and I highly recommend this apartment. Rudia's accommodation is a small treasure. We felt very comfortable here and would be happy to come back. Rudia is a great communicator: she was always quick to reach, had valuable tips for restaurants at hand and was always available for questions. Modica is worth a visit, also to explore Ragusa, Noto and other places of interest in the region. The apartment is very well equipped, quiet, air-conditioned and dark if you like and has a beautiful balcony for mild evenings. In short: this is a great place to spend your holidays.

Salvatore is a great host in his apartment is in a wonderful location, walking distance to everything. His recommendations for pizza, restaurants and a granita are perfect. The view from the balcony is wonderful, it is protected from the sun and the rain so perfect on a hot day or a rainy day. The bed is comfortable and the apartment is a nice studio. The parking garage on the other end of the island is only 15 minutes away so this whole area is a cute concentrated and small beauty. Because you are in the middle of it all so it might be a bit loud, especially on weekends nights until the time the places serving alcohol close. Nothing earplugs and a white noise app can’t fix. I would stay here again absolutely. Thank you Salvatore!!

We had the most fantastic stay - incredible to be overlooking the market. We went everyday and cooked our wares in the lovely kitchen. Apartment is beautifully designed and loved the wine cellar - an unexpected bonus. Double glazing is also excellent- the calls of the market are so atmospheric, but when you don’t want to hear them, you can just shut the windows. Great situation in Ortigia. Responsive check in and support during our stay.

Francesco made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived - and even had a bunch of delicious Sicilian treats waiting for us in the kitchen, including a delicious Tiramisu made by his mother. Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better host. Anytime we had a question, he got back to us right away. His place is a gorgeous, three-story home in Noto, super close to the center but still nice and quiet. We were obsessed with the rooftop terrace and the amazing views. Hands down, one of the best Airbnbs we’ve ever stayed in.

We had a wonderful stay in Stefania’s place. The accommodation was beautiful and the attention to detail was evident throughout - from providing of extensive cooking equipment to beach towels and umbrellas. The terrace was the highlight for us and we enjoyed relaxing and cooking at the outdoor kitchen. Stefania’s recommendations were also amazing, we visited several and enjoyed them all. We loved our stay here and hope to return to Ortigia and Stefania’s place someday!

Well located apartment in old building close to everything. Hosts were very kind. The apartment was very well equipped. Air conditioning worked well. Would recommend.

I had a great stay at this apartment! It was very clean, comfortable, and just like the photos. The owner was easy to reach and always helpful. The only small downside for me was the bed—it was a bit too soft for my preference. Of course, that’s a matter of personal taste and what you’re used to, so others might find it perfectly comfortable. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place and would stay here again without hesitation!

They say perfect is impossible. Here Maria, the host, has achieved the impossible. The Airbnb is absolutely beautiful and incredibly clean. The view from the balcony was beautiful as well, we had a great time relaxing and looking out at the boats. Maria was incredibly hospitable, with a flexible check in and also providing information on the area. Thank you for the wonderful and unforgettable stay!

Such a lovely host. She gave us so many recommendations and was just super friendly! You can tell the host put their heart into the house and the experience, because there are so many thoughtful details that just make your stay so much more pleasant. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Rosa could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. Very easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any queries we had. We haven't given 5 stars for the location only because there is a redevelopment of the promenade at the moment in front of the apartment which is not active at the moment, but will take time to complete. It did not disturb us at all but not the best immediate view. Only 10-15 minutes walk to the centre of Ortiga more than compensates for that temporary aspect.
