Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

선물같은 하루 (숲에서 맞이하는, 민주지산)

‘선물같은 하루＇는 충북 영동군 민주지산의 도마령 기슭(해발 700m) 숲 속에 위치한 체험형 숙소입니다. 노부모님을 위해 지은 목조주택(달밭집, 2005년)과 가족들이 직접 지은 흙집(소영당, 2006년)을 리모델링(2020년)하여 집 전체를 오롯이 한 팀의 손님들만 머물다 가시도록 준비했습니다. 최근에는 울숲의 신갈나무 6~7미터 위에 트리하우스(울숲집, 2024년)를 짓고 이 또한 무료로 체험할 수 있게 했습니다. 체험은 전통문화체험과 생태체험을 유료 및 무료 체험으로 나누어 다양하게 제공하고 있습니다. 흙집은 우리네 선조들의 산골 너와집처럼 달밭 주변에서 얻은 나무와 흙과 돌로 지었습니다. 아궁이에 불을 지피는 체험을 할 수 있고 코는 시원하고 등은 따뜻한 전통가옥의 지혜를 느껴보실 수 있습니다. 흙집 방문 상인방에는 '선물같은 하루'라는 글귀가 새겨져 있습니다. 이곳을 찾는 모든 분들께 '선물같은 하루'라는 소박한 선물을 드리도록 노력하겠습니다.

몸과 마음을 편안하게 해주는 치유재(11/24운영 종료)

치유재 한옥 스테이는 11월 24일까지 운영됩니다. 그동안 저희 한옥 공간을 사랑해 주시고 관심 가져주신 모든 분들께 진심으로 감사드립니다. 짧은 시간 동안이지만, 자연과 함께하는 치유의 공간에서 보내신 소중한 순간들이 여러분의 마음에 오래도록 따뜻하게 남기를 바랍니다. 체크인 오후 3시 체크아웃 오전 11시 주차 전용주차 공간이 없습니다. ( 인근 유료 주차장 이용 부탁드립니다.) 현대 계동사옥 주차장 일일권 12,000원 (밤 12시 기준) 숙소 외부 출입구(대문)에 만약의 사고나 보호를 위해 CCTV가 설치 되어 있습니다. 치유재는 대나무 이끼정원을 중심으로 집안 내부 어디에서든지 정원을 바라봅니다. 시시각각 변화하는 빛에 따라 정원도 집안도 수많은 색을 갖습니다. 바람에 흔들리는 대나무를 보며, 연못에 떨어지는 물소리, 종종 놀러오는 새를 볼 수 있습니다. 자연이 주는 편안함과 아름다움을 느낄 수 있도록 공간을 설계하였습니다.

In addition to burning charcoal in the fireplace and enjoying the burning fire, you can enjoy the following as fireplace dishes. (We prepare 1 box of charcoal. 각종 피부질환을 유발하는 6가크롬이 함유된 콘크리트와 환경호르몬이 발생하는 자재를 전혀 사용하지 않고 ,히노끼 편백나무 침대와 순수 친환경 자재만 사용한 건물 입니다. 넓은 뜰에서 몸과 마음을 온전하게 쉴수있는, 오로지 나만을 위한 공간입니다. 동양최대의 천문대가 있는 보현산 정상을 조망할수 있는 위치에 소재하고 있어서 날씨가 맑으면 밤에 별이 쏟아지고, 가을이면 집주변을 둘러싼 방가산의 단풍이 절경을 이룹니다. 구불구불 산길도 불편하고, 텔레비전도 없지만 조용한 산골의 소리, 맑은 공기, 칠흙같은 밤의 별과 달빛이 반겨주는 곳입니다. 도시의 두고온 것들을 그리워하지 않으며 무한히 쉬고 싶은 분들을 환영합니다. 활발한 액티비티 또는 음주가무를 즐기고 싶은 분들 보다 도시 생활에 지쳐 힐링을 원하는 분들께 추천드립니다. 숙소는 항상 소독합니다.
