The location is great—within walking distance to the nearby train station, convenience stores, and a public bath. The house has everything we needed; the washing machine and dryer were especially helpful for us. Highly recommended!

They always responded politely and were very helpful during my stay. The facilities were beautiful and easy to use, and they took measures against insects in advance, so there was no particular trouble.The view was beautiful and overall very good.

Such a beautiful house in such a beautiful neighborhood with such a kind host. Drove us both too and from the train station, and bought us snacks when the cleaners had to come and stay a little longer than expected during our stay. Other than that (which really wasn’t much of an issue at all), we had one of the most enjoyable and peaceful and well-hosted experiences of our time on Airbnb. If you’re looking for a taste of Japan - of the old ways - look no farther.

Never expected to have such a big house to stay in Japan! The house is very close the Biwa Lake, the surrounding is peaceful. in front of the house you can park two big cars and one K-car. Because of the location you'll have to drive in & out, so not recommend to people who's not driving. But if you are, This is a great place. especially the price is not high!

The room itself was very clean and comfortable! It's on a busy road, so I'm a little nervous about the sound of trucks at night, but I can't help it.💦 The location is very good, and there are convenience stores, cafes, and supermarkets within 10 minutes by car!

This was a very pleasant surprise, the scenery in this town is like from a movie, we couldn’t believe how beautiful it was, our hist was extremely nice , she allow us to stay a bit more so we had enough time for breakfast. The house is very nice spacious clean, my only regret was that i didn’t stay more time. Is worth the travel there would definitely would advise stay at least two days. Great Location within the Shimogyo District of Kyoto. Less than 10 min walk to the Karasuma Line, makes this location great for seeing most attractions across the city. Clean and quiet location makes a great stay for up to 4 guest. The host was responsive and did a fantastic job at fulfilling our requests throughout the stay!

Great homestay very close to the lake, perfect if you drive!

I used it with my dog. The owner also had dinner at the shop he manages at night.Dogs are allowed in the store, the food is delicious, and there is a good selection of drinks. It was fun to talk. The bath was also nice and more than I thought in the photos I felt it was a little too loose. It's along a main road, At night, the traffic volume decreased and it felt relatively quiet. The convenience store in front of you is also convenient. I think the value is pretty good. Nearby, there are pet-friendly places such as the Ryuo outlet, the Konohachi Hachiman dog and boat rides, and the eel shop where you can bring your dog, so I think it's a place where you can enjoy yourself even with your pet.

My family and I had a wonderful stay. Our booking was in a townhouse like structure attached to a row of other houses but we heard nothing from any neighbors. It had one Western style bedroom on the first floor with a fully accessible bathroom (toilet and bathtub). 2 Japanese style bedrooms and another bathroom that's split: shower, sink washer and dryer in one room, toilet and sink in the other is on the second floor. An added bonus is a tv room with Wii games, a smart tv, and books in multiple languages. Our host Rachel was amazing, fluent in Japanese and English she was able to answer any questions we had, made great suggestions for how to tweak our itinerary to have things for more with insider local knowledge, communicated with Japanese only speakers on our behalf, and even had a cute friendly dog. Our experience was 10/10, fantastic.

The house is private and quiet, the surrounding facilities are also convenient, the subway is about five or six minutes away, and there is also a 24-hour convenience store.Especially the landlord was very friendly!I will introduce Kyoto and recommended attractions, and help pick up and drop off ~ The house is very comfortable. I will stay here again if I come to Kyoto next time!

We had a wonderful stay at this spacious house, perfect for our group of 5 adults and 1 baby. My husband and I chose the tatami-style room to sleep with our baby, and it was a cozy and special experience. The house is located near the lakeside and close to the train tracks, a bit of a distance from town, but that wasn’t an issue for us as we had rented a car. We also made good use of the kitchen and even enjoyed a late-night supper together. Everything was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. Overall, it was a great experience, and we truly enjoyed our stay here!

The place is as described in a quiet neighborhood, good for walking around to appreciate the beautiful flowers in front of some houses. There are grocery stores within ~20 mins walk downhill to a main street of the area. It was very helpful to have a pick up and drop off to the subway station services by the owner.

We had a lovely time there, would happily go back. The area is delightful, the house steps from jade green canal, new flowers blooming every day in private gardens along the way. Quiet, casual neighborhood with a surprising number of excellent bakeries, cafes, and restaurants. The house was quirky but fun. I should say, as others have, that the stIrs are quite steep even for a Japanese house. We, being old, slept downstairs. The living room furniture is wildly comfortable and the tv excellent. The kitchen is entirely workable, offering extras like a toaster oven and a rice cooker. The heating/cooling units work well and the hot water and water pressure are excellent. Our host was always responsive, helpful, and friendly. He came to change a light fixture for us only a couple of hours after we asked. He also left us a little directory of restaurants and public baths in the area. We are grateful for the chance to live there.

Great accommodation very close to the train station and local shops. Spacious with everything needed for travelers. The outdoor bath was very nice. On the other hand, trains pass regularly, so plan for earplugs for those who are light sleepers.
