Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Watauga County

This was a terrific cottage - one of our favorites. Beautiful setting with a large yard with a creek. The house had everything that you could want - large living area and a kitchen with everything that you could need - modern appliances two different coffee makers (with coffee). Two bedrooms with comfortable beds and a pristine bathroom. This was a peaceful spot very much off the beaten track which was just what we were looking for. We hope to use it again.

Andrew there are no words to describe what an awesome stay we had at your place. All the extra touches did not go unnoticed. Andrew and his home deserves 10 stars!

We had the most magical summer stay at “our nest”. The home was clean and well stocked. Yvonne was so kind and left milk, OJ, Eggs and tons of snacks. The coffee bar was well stocked as well. The backyard was perfect for our kiddo and dogs. We sat out at night watching the dazzling firefly show. The location was perfect, close to historic Boone but also close to all the hiking we did. We would highly recommend Yvonne’s home.

Booked last minute (day before check-in) after hotel canceled our reservation. This was way better than a hotel! House is in a great location between Blowing Rock and Boone on a short private street. Everything was neat and clean. Easy self check-in and no ridiculous check-out rules. We barely used the kitchen but looked like it was well supplied for cooking full meals. We will keep this on our list for possible future stays while our daughter attends App State.

Cloudy and rainy during our stay but we still enjoyed ourselves! We wanted a restful vacay and it was that! Very comfortable.

This house was a perfect spot for our trip to Boone. It had everything we needed for our baby and kids as well as our dog! Ian was responsive when we had questions about the house. We absolutely come back here for our next visit to Boone!

This cottage is a hidden gem in downtown blowing rock. We come to blowing rock yearly, but this was our first time staying downtown. Best stay ever! We loved the close proximity to restaurants and the playground for our kids. The cottage was as pictured and spotless. No issues with bugs or funky smells. Comfortable beds and well styled decor. We had an issue with the door upon arrival but Karen the property manager was so helpful and resolved the issue promptly. She was so kind and welcoming too. Plenty of room in the bedrooms for a pack and play for a baby. Very quiet at night. We plan to stay again next year! You will love this cottage!

My husband and I stayed for a month at the house and absolutely loved it. It was peaceful and beautiful with the music of a rushing streamf filling the house everyday when we opened up the French doors. It was refreshing to see that the house actually matched all of the photos and the amenities that were listed. It was great to have a grocery store and a restaurant within 15 minutes of the house. we loved it so much. we're going to come back again next year.

Johnny’s place offered everything I needed and more for a night. It’s easy to walk into and around the little town Banner Elk, but it also has beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Johnny and his wife are very friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed my visit!

Very comfortable and convenient. Would definitely stay there again!

We always enjoy staying here! It’s our go-to place on Beech Mountain. Super-comfortable beds. We love sitting on the balcony and watching the deer while we have coffee in the morning. Michelle is a gracious host and an excellent communicator. Thanks again for another great stay!

We had a great stay at Penthouse A! It is literally right in the middle of downtown Blowing Rock yet we had peaceful sleep each night. We easily walked everywhere including dinner each night. As advertised the stairs up to the place are worth noting if any mobility issues but that was well disclosed and no problem for us! We’d definitely stay again if we wanted an in town stay!

We had a great stay at Susan’s place! A lovely home and perfectly walkable to King Street. Would definitely recommend, we were comfortable and cared for as the home had everything we needed!

Love my stay!! Super convenient after skiing for the day. The space was super clean and modern. Also really close to town!

Beautiful surroundings and location. We enjoyed sitting on the swings and enjoying the view.

Very pretty yard that is fully enclosed (front & back) which is great for bringing a dog. Our dog was quite happy we picked this home because he had other pups to visit with. The outside is very inviting, even though it rained a bit. They have areas that are covered, which are great for this. The inside is clean and neat. The bed was really comfortable and our son thoroughly enjoyed the air mattress. At the right time of year, the fireplace would be amazing. The location is great because it’s close enough to town to be convenient, and right by the Blue Ridge Parkway for hiking.

Whitney was very personable, couldn’t figure out the gate and she took a personal call without hesitation to help. So close to all the great places in town.we will be back.

Kyle was helpful and responsive. The place was very clean and the decorations were beautiful. My friend and I had a girl’s weekend and wanted different rooms (because we like to sleep in opposite temperature) and this fit us perfectly. We each had our own bathroom and the beds were very comfy. It was nice to have a kitchen and laundry option too. The directions were easy and Banner Elk is a 5 minute walk. The best part was the 180 degree view! I miss it already and didn’t want to leave! There were deer outside our window both days so that was a bonus. We would stay here again for sure!

Amanda’s hidden gem was an amazing spot for me and my boyfriend to escape reality from! Check-in was very easy, and her space was very easy to find. Her space looks just like the pictures and we felt right at home. Amanda was also kind enough to supply some light snacks and coffee cups for the place which we were very grateful for! It was very clean, and we felt very safe and right at home. We were also able to have access to the country club, which we went for the hot tub which was so nice! The view from the balcony was amazing!! Overall, we loved our stay with Amanda and we will be back for a ski trip!! :)

I really enjoyed my stay. The view of Grandfather Mountain was beautiful and peaceful. The thoughtful decor of the condo felt welcoming and modern. The location is great as a base for hiking and outdoor activities in the surrounding area. Downtown Boone is about 15-20 minutes away, which has cute stores and some good restaurants. I liked Kimberly and Lauren’s food recommendations of The Cardinal and Lost Province.

This place is in a beautiful area. It's private and quiet surrounded by nature's wonder. Every morning I woke up to a beautiful sunrise on the balcony with my coffee listening to the birds sing. I slept on the sofa bed facing the balcony and it was comfortable. My kids enjoyed the bed in the bedroom. We made breakfast and dinner and enjoyed how comfortable and cozy the ambiance felt in this condo. I took morning walks nearby. Otter falls is nearby and you can hear the creek from the balcony. The condo was very clean and had the basic necessities for our weekend stay. Definitely coming back again.

This was the perfect getaway we were looking for. The owners did an absolutely great job at providing clear and precise details on how to get to the unit. Additionally, it was helpful that they mentioned that there was no AC so that we could bring our own fans with us. The location had a beautiful scenery in the morning. Also, there was even some wildlife that we spotted from the porch during our morning coffee. The little touches of coffee being provided and dog toys for our Happy boy was very sweet. We would definitely stay here again
