Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Barlavento Algarvio

We had booked it for my 70th with all our family. Unfortunately my husband too ill and wasn’t allowed to fly. The rest of the family and grandchildren had the best time. The villa was as it was in the pictures, spacious and clean. The pool was spotless as the pool cleaner came to keep it maintained. It’s the first time my family had been to Portugal and they just loved it and would recommend anyone booking this villa would be very happy. They are due back today and the feedback from them has been very good. Infact we might just book this for next year. Steve and Natalie have been amazing hosts. We all would Definitely Highly Recommend this Villa and Location. 5 Star ⭐ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

7 friends had a great stay at this villa. It's so spacious, and great views with a great pool area. It's easy and cheap to get into town through Ubers (5 euro), and just a great place to relax. The rooms were all nice and big with en-suites, and showers were good. Kitchen was well stocked as well, and we had lots of BBQs - which being gas was quick and convenient. Highly recommend to friends and/or families that would want to say. You'd struggle to find any problems with this place.

Jose’s place is welcoming, comfortable and very accommodating with thoughtfulness in the details. A great location in the charming town of Monchique. I would love to return one day.

Awesome stay this place! The location was perfect—everything was super walkable, and the hosts were really responsive with great restaurant tips, you must visit the garden & green room. Just a heads-up: it’s right in the middle of the nightlife, so you hear music from the bar next door until about 2am. But overall, it was a great spot and I’d definitely recommend it!

We stayed at Tobias' place for over a week and it met all our expectations of a stylish, elegant, well-equipped house with a magnificent terrace. The view of the sea while eating outside was fulfilling and beautiful every time. We were there with our two small children, who loved to explore the garden or run around the house. The neighboring SurfHostelw was also great, as we were able to book a yoga class there and were allowed to have a fish barbecue. Of course, the beach Praia Ingrina, 1 km away, was a highlight, as it is a sheltered bay and therefore ideal for small children. In addition, we were often just a few people on the beach. We will be happy to come back.

The stay was great, the house is especially worth it for the view and proximity to Arrifana beach. It has the essentials for a good vacation. An experience to repeat

We had an amazing stay at Hugo’s place - definitely one of the best spots in Arrifana! The location is unbeatable.. right on the beach with stunning ocean views and the peaceful sound of waves all day long. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. The apartment was super clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Simple but cozy, with all the essentials. Hugo was an exceptional host- very friendly, responsive, and always available if we needed anything. Great communication throughout our stay. The area is perfect for surfing with plenty of rental shops nearby, plus great restaurants within walking distance. Aljezur is only about 15 minutes away if you need supermarkets or extra supplies. Would absolutely recommend and can’t wait to come back!

We loved staying here. Anna-Lena was very welcoming. Her place is very special and has been created with a lot of love. There were also oranges and wine in our kitchen which was lovely. Anna-Lena took the time to share info on hikes and beaches. We love having locals tell us about special spots.

What a wonderful home we stayed in! Carla and Paolo are amazing hosts, very responsive and friendly. The house is beautiful and very well located next to all main attractions, restaurants, shops, promenade and beach. We had one small issue during our last day— we had no hot water but Paolo was proactive as soon as I messaged Carla and stopped by to check the boiler. I highly recommend this property and would stay here again.

Cannot recommend enough, Peggy and Rupert were extremely responsive, polite and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The apartment was pristine, as described and in a good location with some really special beaches nearby (15 min walk) From setting up car hire, to restaurant recommendations and parking info, Peggy made everything simple. The apartment was well stocked with all the things you'd need, my only regret was that I didn't have time to finish the book I borrowed off the shelf! We would come back, thanks so much!

Aurelia’s house had a welcoming atmosphere from the moment I walked in. I especially appreciated the local guidebook on the living room table- it’s clear Aurelia truly cares about her guests’ experience.

Jose was a great host, who was always helpful and responsive. The location is great. No frills place, with all the essentials you'll need to have a good trip in Alvor. The view of the beach and ocean is the best part.

Lovely decorated apartment in a residential area, close to the marina and old town, completely walkable, the old town is lovely and everyone is friendly, local restaurants are great. A good balance of location and views! It’s 2 minutes walk to old town and maybe 5 minutes to the marina.

Marco's accommodation was really great. 9/10 points - why: I thought, according to the photos, that it was the neighboring house with a pool. We were on the first floor and actually I prefer to stay on the ground floor with my 5 year old son, which unfortunately was not quite clear. Top was: not even 5 minutes walk to the beach, great restaurants on the beach, expensive supermarket just around the corner. The apartment is super clean and the kitchen has everything you absolutely need for self-catering but nothing more, no pasta strainer and no lemon squeezer, for example. Tableware also minimally from the number of pieces (6 glasses). Marco and his mom are super nice and helpful at check-in, furthermore we did not need them, as it was not our first Portugal vacation. Price-performance with pool top - you can't rule anything out. Portimão is a great location, 50 minutes by car from Faro Airport and 30 minutes from Lagos. Best regards, Jessica & Family.

Fabulous location! Beach, amazing boardwalk, and town very near, just lots of stairs! But that is beautiful Portugal! Views from porch were fantastic; everything you needed was in the kitchen and it was a very welcoming place. We didn’t use the pool, but it is a good size and well maintained. Master shower is a bit tight, but a big beautiful bath is 5 steps away, so really no big deal. I would definitely book here again if the opportunity arises!

I have stayed at many Airbnb apartments over the years and I have never experienced the professionalism, adaptability and helpfulness of our host Hélia. In addition, The apartment was absolutely beautiful with all the amenities and the extra touches of bottle of wine, water and tray of snacks are what makes this such a unique experience. I am not surprised that this apartment is always booked. Thank you

We loved staying at Marlene's place! The location can't be beat. The views were amazing and we enjoyed the easy access to the beach and the walking trails along the cliffs. We found the walk to town totally doable (10-15mins) with also a few restaurants even closer (Mar, Luca's rooftop, etc.). The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked. We would definitely stay here again.

Wow!! What an amazing place! One of the best Airbnbs I have ever stayed in! The photos don’t do it justice! So much nicer!! Super clean, tastefully decorated, very well equipped, fantastic rooftop terrace, and gorgeous beach views! The location is fantastic, literally a two minute walk to the beautiful Meia Praia beach. Carolina is so friendly and was super attentive during our stay! Highly recommend and will definitely be back soon!!

We had a fantastic week at Anita’s apartment in Praia da Rocha. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome – Anita and Antonio had left a generous guest pack including ham, cheese, wine, milk, water, biscuits and crisps, which was a lovely and thoughtful touch after our journey. The apartment itself is bright, spotless, and has spectacular views across the beach – which, pleasantly, wasn’t too busy during our stay. The location is excellent, with a great selection of bars and restaurants just a short walk away. Anita and Antonio were outstanding hosts – friendly, responsive, and clearly committed to making sure their guests have everything they need. Their detailed information pack was really helpful, and they were always quick to answer any questions we had. Rosa’s place was great and exactly as described. Very short distance to beach and town (~15 min). She had recommendations which we appreciated. Check-in was easy. The place was as described and Rosa was super communicative. We encountered some issues after checkin and Rosa handled them immediately, which was so appreciated!! We loved the beauty of the view and the location above Dona Ana beach and being close to the boardwalk to ponte da Piedade. You are also close to old town Lagos for restaurants, as well as to the marina. Joanna was very helpful and responsive and the condo was well equipped, with beautiful dishes and everything you need if you wish to cook.
