Our beautiful shepherd's hut sits in four acres of secluded woodland in rural Hexhamshire. Enjoy the peaceful solitude, with glimpsed views through the mature oaks onto the North Pennines. Surrounded by miles of footpaths, bridleways and moorland, there are walking, cycling and riding options in every direction. Nearby rural pubs offer delicious local ales and fantastic food; or try some home raised, rare breed pork over the firepit grill, then a drink on the raised deck in the evening sun.

Tethera Nook - a beautifully crafted retreat

Tethera Nook is the South East wing of Hylands with wonderful views. Set over three floors, surrounded by beautiful gardens, it has been renovated with great care, to the highest standard of design, using quality materials and finishes. It is a place to rest and unwind, to wander and sit in a garden full of wildlife, to gaze at the ever-changing views. It's 12 minutes walk from Kendal town center's many independent shops and restaurants and 5 minutes walk to our local pub the Riflemans Arms

Our cedarwood lodge has been designed and built for our family and friends to use when they visit. It is in a rural setting about 4 miles outside the market town of Cockermouth but is actually located in the Lake District National Park with stunning views over the fells, Binsey, Skiddaw, Bassenthwaite Lake and Keswick. The lodge has been designed to make the most of those idyllic views and is a retreat for anyone wanting to relax, unwind and enjoy our “world Heritage” status.

Yewbarrow - Shepherd's hut overlooking Wastwater

One of two traditional wooden shepherd's huts situated at the top of the beautiful Wasdale valley on a working Lakeland hill farm. Both huts have spectacular lake views over Wastwater and the surrounding fells and are the perfect bases for outdoor activities. Each hut comes complete with its own bathroom with shower, kitchen area and outdoor seating with BBQ. The shepherd's huts are brand new for summer 2022 and are currently being built from scratch here on the farm.

Comfortable converted watermill sleeping one or two couples, overlooking a spectacular waterfall, in the tranquil Eden Valley, between Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. The deep pool below the falls is ideal for cold-water swimming. Perfect for a romantic getaway, or watching abundant birds and wildlife, for honeymoons, anniversaries or engagements! The Vale of Lorton is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of the Lakes, ranging from the flat farmland and Gem town of Cockermouth at one end to the rugged mountains and Buttermere at the other. The tranquil setting of The Spinney, above the River Cocker, with spectacular views over to Whinlatter, is an ideal location to explore the north western Lakes. Set in two acres of mature trees, gardens and river frontage, with lots of wildlife.

Toddell Barn

Toddell Barn forms part of our traditional Lakeland longhouse farm, built in approximately 1710. Toddell Barn sits within approximately 7 acres of agricultural land that helps attract a wide variety of wildlife. Toddell Barn is located in the hamlet of Brandlingill (2 miles south of Cockermouth) and is within the northern boundary of The Lake District National Park, categorised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017.
