What a find ! A great place to stay in a quiet location near the woods which was great for our dog. The accommodation was spotless and had everything we need for our short break. The welcome pack was a bonus with information on things to do and places to eat which is great especially when you have a dog with you,The Alma inn had the best food! Jill is such a lovely welcoming host( but never intrudes ) and was quick to respond to any queries we had. We would definitely recommend a visit and will return someday.

Little hidden gem....."The Dairy" is a cute little place to stay if you want away from the hustle bustle of the busier areas i.e Liverpool/Manchester but close enough to travel to. It's well equipped with everything you would need for a break away, we were only there a few night's but could have definitely stayed longer. The outside open garden accessed from the bedroom is so peaceful to relax in after a busy day or having your morning coffee. Easy access to shops for groceries, fuel station etc...highly recommend this place wouldn't hesitate to stay again. P.S - Phil thank you for the paracetamol it was a god send 😊

had a lovely chilled weekend with my partner, the cabin was beautiful, cosy and clean, it was lovely to see the deer from our cabin. The bathroom just a very short walk away from the cabin was very clean, shower was hot and powerful 👌 we took advantage of the boat ride on their lake, that was fun. Ruth was very helpful, lovely host, lovely place ... will return 🥰

We had a wonderful 2 night stay with the dog! Andrew was a great host, and very understanding when we had to rearrange our booking earlier this year. The hut was exactly as described/pictured, very cosy and clean, with stunning local walks.

I had an absolutely blissful stay at Johns place. It was wonderful to be surrounded by so many lovely animals, and the views from inside the hut are incredible. A very special spot.

We had a fabulous stay at Hingabarn, a remote beautiful place, surrounded by wooded countryside with so many flower-filled meadows. Barn itself very clean with a well-equipped kitchen, and a very generous welcome pack! The drive up the track was fine, as per instructions just have to take it slowly and carefully. Thank you Paul and Barbara, we will be back!

We stayed here for a break away from our home renovations and I can’t explain how peaceful and lovely it was. Fiona met us on arrival and was so helpful with showing us around, brought us some milk and was really friendly. The accommodation itself was beautiful with some stunning finishing touches, the sun beds under the pergola were a dream with a morning coffee and we enjoyed watching some DVDs and seeing all the animals and wildlife. We spent the day in the Yorkshire Dales which is always beautiful and we can’t wait to return to Fiona’s place and experience it all again!

Very comfortable and well-equipped cottage, perfect for a quiet break. Set in a very nice garden, a short walk from the sea and with cycle routes directly into the forest. Host was very friendly and helpful, we had an excellent time.

From the moment we arrived we were blown away by this wonderful location. We were welcomed warmly by Sarah who showed us around and was on hand if we needed any help. The location is absolutely stunning, with everything you could need for a peaceful, romantic and private getaway. All of the little extras that were provided such as sweet treats and their own homemade coffee really added to the quality of the experience. Sitting in the hot tub surrounded by beautiful garden plants and flowers, as well all the birds, bees and butterflies really made this a wonderfully tranquil experience. The shepherds hut is beautifully decorated and we felt right at home from the outset. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. We will definitely be returning again to enjoy Lonton and all the wonderful surrounding areas!

Brilliant stay, host extremely helpfully and had set the hut up beautifully. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away for a few days in peace and quiet.

We had a fantastic stay! The lodge is in a perfect location with a beautiful view from the balcony overlooking Lake Windermere. The lodge was very clean and comfortable. The perfect place for a weekend away in the Lakes!

I’ve stayed at many places in my time and can honestly say this place is the best! Totally off grid away from everyday life! We only stayed the 1 night but wished we could have stayed longer! To keep things cool we placed them in a bag or you could use a freezer box in the stream. The bed was the comfiest bed I’d ever slept in! Sitting next to the stream of a night time, the fire lit surrounded by the sounds of wildlife with a nice cold beer was absolutely perfect! We ended the night in the hot tub which again was perfect! In the morning we were greeted by the Geese and Sheep too! Had to have a paddle in the stream where we saw some little fish! Annabel really was the perfect host! She explained how to use everything and where everything was. Sorry we forgot to write in the guest book (slightly hungover) Thankyou so much for having us we will definitely be back xxx

10/10 stay, would highly recommend and will definitely be back :)

This Shepherd’s Hut is gem on the Pennine Way. The hut is very sweet and cosy and perfect for a night or two. View from the window is over the sheep fields and we spend the evening sitting outside, watching swifts, swallow allows and house martins circling above us. The host could not have been more friendly and helpful and we felt at home straight from the start. We couldn’t recommend this place any more especially if you are hiking the Pennine Way and want somewhere special to stay.

Absolutely perfect long weekend at Peasecroft. The place is gorgeous and so well kitted out. We took a projector and had a movie night - the blinds are the perfect projector screen ;-). We bagged three Wainwrights, did a boat tour, tried most of the pubs in Coniston, had a spa day at Low Wood bay... perfect weekend and amazing accommodation. Couldn't recommend it highly enough! Our stay at Hygge Lodge was wonderful!The space was clean,cozy and so private, it was exactly as described. The photos don’t do the surroundings justice, the views are spectacular. John was incredibly welcoming and responsive, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay when visiting the Lakes.
