Gilleleje Church was a waiting place for Jews until they could be transported. In 1943, 75 Jews were caught by the Gestapo on the church ceiling after a snitch had informed the Germans. Everywhere there are monuments of historical events. Every year there are various festivals in Gilleleje - "Hill" Festival, Harbour Festival, Jazz at the port and The Herring Day. Charming house in Tinkerup, 3 km from Gilleleje. There is a large terrace around the whole house with several cozy corners, pergolas, hammock and outdoor shower. It only takes 10 minutes to walk to the beach. There's only Apple TV. Bedding and towels are free for a full week's rent, but can be rented for shorter stays. The tenant is responsible for final cleaning. No smoking/animals allowed. Only rent Saturday to Saturday in weeks 26-32. For electricity consumption over DKK 75 per day, there will be a settlement after the stay.
