Holiday rentals with outdoor seating in Iceland

Anyone traveling through Iceland should consider this property. The location is amazing and the scenery was beyond my expectations. The Sheep and access to the grazing fields provided a pleasant environment. Finally, the home was impeccable and the love could be seen in the property details.

This well designed and appointed cottage is perched on a hill between the lava beds and the sea. It’s a clean and cozy place with stunning views all around.

We loved our stay here, the place was super clean and comfortable for our family of 5. The decor and furnishings were so lovely, we loved all the details. The upstairs and chess board were a fun spot! Highly recommend this place!

Beautiful location and excellent accommodations.

This was a wonderful stay. We appreciated experiencing staying on an Icelandic farm including the opportunity to walk around and observe the farm's animals. The host was very responsive and the freshly picked flowers as a welcome was lovely. I highly recommend you stay here.

A peaceful and private cabin surrounded by mountains and a lake. The house is beautiful and spacious. A well stocked kitchen made it easy to cook dinners and breakfast. Plenty of space for 5 adults and 1 child to spread out and relax. Thankful for such a kind, patient, responsive host!

So glad we chose Margret’s house for our stay. It was so very comfortable and private, while also being convenient to most of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Slept well (recommend eye shades in the summer), had good hot showers in the morning, washer/dryer worked very well, and the angry artic terns only pooped on my head once but that was because I was too close to their nest and didn’t realize it. Margret herself was great to communicate with and had quick answers to all our questions. Our recommendations: - Walk the whole cliff path from Arnarstappi to Hellnar and have a bite to eat at the little cafe at the end. - Eat at Sker (Margret’s recommendation) in Ólafsvík. - Tour the lava tube. - Climb the crater. - Drive the mountain roads.

I cannot praise Kolbrun’s accommodations enough. The only negative was that we only stayed one night! We were so comfortable there, the views were spectacular, and it was so peaceful after traveling for 10 days. Highly recommend!

We will forever remember our stay here in Iceland. Anna is an exceptional host who greeted us on arrival and welcomed us into her beautiful home so kindly. She was available whenever we had questions and was extremely accommodating. The picturesque landscape is quite unbelievable surrounding her home and we felt so welcomed to walk about as we wished. Her home is conveniently located within driving distance for great day trips and her clean hot tub was great to relax in after a day of exploring this beautiful country. Thank you Anna!

Amazing stay, with anything you possible need. After a week of traveling from hotel to hotel this was just want we needed. felt like at home, we're able to cook our meals and wash our clothes and relax. super clean place and cozy.

This was a great place for us to stay. It’s close to grocery stores and restaurants. It’s also close to the city so it is convenient but it’s very nice that you are not right in the city. I would highly recommend staying here.

Fabulous apartment with very easy access from airport. Comfy seats with the best view, close to shops & restaurants. We stayed for our first couple of nights in Iceland & was the perfect base to explore. Thank you!

Cosy and comfortable self contained apartment located close to the airport, perfect for late arrivals or early departures. The hosts were proactive and responsive with communications providing clear instructions regarding arrival, departure and stay and even offered to keep their dog inside if we felt uncomfortable around dogs. We were unexpectedly late in arriving due to unforeseen circumstances. Not only were the hosts very accommodating with this but also offered to allow us to stay beyond the already generous checkout time of 11am if we needed to because of the unforeseen circumstances even though they had a separate booking the next day. They also kindly provided my wife with some painkillers as we had been unable to get any having arrived late. Highly recommended and would definitely book again if we went back to Iceland.

We stopped for one night on our ring road trip. We would have enjoyed staying longer! This was a wonderful spot for our family of four - peacful, quiet, and had everything we need. The washer and drier worked perfect (sometimes driers don't really dry... but this one worked great!), there was coffee, and the beds were comfortable. Only a couple of steps to get in, and the entrance and instructions were super easy to follow. There's a grocery store very closeby for food and a nice pizza place nearby as well. The view from the outside space, which is a nice outdoor covered stone balcony on the first level, is really nice - overlooking a field and some landscape in the distance. Really a nice, sweet place to stay. Parking is shared but there were spots available every time we pulled up, right by the door to the building. We would definitely say again!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Jon’s Penthouse. It was easy walking distance to all the main sights in Reykjavik, plus there were many restaurants and groceries close by. Since there was an elevator to the fourth floor, it was easy to manage with luggage. Even though it is in the city, we never heard any noise. The apartment is very tidy and has all the amenities needed for a nice stay. We did not totally understand how to use the hot spot, but did not need it since we had eSIMs. Each evening we watched a variety of movies on Netflix, which were much appreciated. Although it was pleasant when we arrived at the end of May, by the beginning of June a huge storm arrived and it was so windy, I could barely stand when walking. However, Jon’s place is a warm and quiet oasis in a storm.

We stayed at Gunnar’s apartment for a week during our visit to Reykjavík. The location was good and pretty central to restaurants and attractions we wanted to visit. We did rent a car which made travel much easier and the parking was abundant and not too expensive. The apartment itself was clean overall although some areas had some dust. No complaints here, it wasn’t a big deal. Gunnar did advertise that the apartment house(d) two cats but as someone with cat allergies I had no problem with any fur or cat dander. FYI, across Iceland the hot water is heated geothermically which gives off a sulfur smell, so don’t be alarmed. Thanks Gunnar, for allowing us to stay at your apartment during the week! Ken + Jenn

We had a wonderful time in this cozy apartment. It was a nice location to be outside the city but have easy access to main roads and shops. We chose this place as it was walking distance to our friends' house. Heba's decor is very pleasing and the kitchen had everything we needed. The space is well designed for relaxation and practicality. It was easy to park our rental car in the driveway.

This stay was such a highlight of our trip! We really enjoyed the location in a beautiful peaceful neighborhood, right next to the bike/ walking path that you can take into downtown. Helgi and Titti are the best hosts! We felt welcomed as if we were one of their neighbors. Such a joy to hang out in the garden and drink coffees and pet their dog :) they have lots of good local reccommendations. Can’t imagine a better place to stay either as a couple or a solo traveller- can’t wait to be back one day, a very special place.

WOW! what an amazing place to stay!!!! I have endless things to say about our experience here. the views and surroundings were immaculate. so peaceful and such a wonderful way to wake up in the mornings. everything was so clean and the rooms / beds were so comfortable. the bonus was the little spa area, the facilities were so clean and amazing. plenty of room to change, bathroom, showers, sauna. and the outdoor waterfall hot tubs were perfect temperature while it was cold outside. I would 100% stay here again!

I cannot recommend this condo enough. This was a great place right outside of Reykjavík that allowed us to quickly go into town and provided a great jumping off point for our tours. The condo was welcoming and very clean - it is exactly how the photos and description describe it. The amenities were great, and the laundry was wonderful after long days. Also, Hannes was a phenomenal host. He allowed us to check in early because of an early morning flight, and was extremely responsive to any question I had. I cannot wait to return and rebook this condo. I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you Hannes for your hospitality!

What an absolutely wonderful Airbnb experience. The apartment was beautiful and super-clean, and the view was stunning! We loved looking out the window at the ocean in the evenings, and we took a lovely walk along the seafront one morning. We took day trips to the Golden Circle and the Snaefellsnes peninsula, and we were an easy drive from Reykjavik. Best of all, Salvor Lilja and her husband were amazing hosts. We enjoyed a sunset soak in the hot tub, and they very kindly provided a selection of beverages and Icelandic treats. They also very thoughtfully left the apartment stocked with amenities like coffee, tea, milk, beer, wine and chocolates. We would highly recommend to anyone!

Wow! This was literally the best place we stayed in Iceland and also maybe the best AirBnB experience we've had (and there have been A LOT over the years). Hilmar is a GREAT host -- and the apartment is both quirky, clean, peaceful, super comfortable AND in the middle of all the action in Reykjavik. We loved the art, the kitchen, the adorable bathroom, the sun streaming in off the deck, the bakery down the street. We cannot rave enough about this place. Book it if you can. Oh -- and parking was surprisingly easy despite it being centrally located.
