It is an old private house that initially opened as an accommodation facility for almost 100% inbound. Renovation work is being carried out on the semi-open-air bath inside the warehouse and the water area. ■ Healing moss garden ■ There are three moss gardens: the front garden, the middle garden, and the back garden, and well water flows everywhere, flowing between the hand basin, the watering hole, the deer repellent, the stepping stones, and the pot pond, where koi, medaka, tanago, and crayfish live, and a biotope space visited by wild birds. ■ Check-in lounge (cafe/bar space), souvenir corner ■ You can drink authentic cocktails on the first floor of the annex (main building). Location Opened in May 2024. Located in the heart of Takayama's historic district, Makoto-ya Ojin is a stylish inn in 1-chome, Ojin-cho, Takayama City, where the good old Japanese landscape remains. In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall).
