Beautiful place and lots of bird life. Eider breeding right next to the house and you can get a guided tour of the breeding. Large kríuvarp in the area. The house is in a sheltered location and overlooks the sea and the Snæfellsnes peninsula is clearly visible in good visibility. In winter, under the right conditions, there is a great chance to see the Northern Lights. The house is old but everything is newly renovated. The loft has 2 good mattresses (steep stairs up). Bright and beautiful. Close to the airport, about 10 minutes (9 km), and a good swimming pool in Sandgerði (2 km)

Within a 3-minute walk, you’ll find a public swimming pool with indoor and outdoor pools. A small shopping center, Krossmói, is only 8 minutes away on foot, offering a supermarket, pharmacy, bank (ATM), restaurants, and other shops. The local bus stop is also nearby (outdoor, no kiosk). The location is exceptional, located hillside in a beautiful nature reserve, still very close to the downtown Reykjavik, 20 min drive. In winter Dec-March 4x4 car is essential in Iceland. No public transport. Enjoy the hot tube in the evening and watch for the Northern Lights, then rest inside and amid wood paneling that extends to the vaulted ceilings, and look out forest-wards from the deck.
