The village (Loquard) we live in is located between Emden and Greetsiel and allows excursions to the East Frisian islands or to the coast only 1.7 km away. Our vacation home is the former general store of this idyllic village. The original store furnishings have been extensively restored. So, we still have a picture of what shopping felt like until the 1980s: there was everything for everyday needs, you could write a letter and find out the latest. Thus, our vacation home is a stony witness to the everyday history of East Frisia.
