Chalet holiday rentals in South Hams District

Lovely place with close access to The Thatch and the beach. Perfect for a few nights away surfing with friends.

The host, Julie, was really helpful and responsive to our messages. Beautiful surroundings and the views from the chalet were incredible. We were visiting old friends and neighbours and it was an excellent base. The walk down into Shaldon along the golf course was convenient and stunning but be prepared for the walk back up!! The chalet had everything we needed and was really nicely decorated with comfy sofas and beds. Wish we were there longer and would love to go back.

Het uitzicht was fantastisch, en de tuin was beschut; je kon heerlijk in de zon zitten. Het coastal path loopt er vlak achter, dus je kan zo wandelen, maar door de beplanting heb je nauwelijks door wanneer er mensen langskomen. De pub op loopafstand had prima eten, dus als je een dagje niet wegwil zijn er prima opties in de buurt. Al in al zeker een herhaling waard!

What a beautiful place, so peaceful and the lodge was so cute. Ian met us on arrival and showed us around and told us all the info we needed, he also gave us freshly baked scones which was such a lovely touch. Just outside the lodge there was so much space for our daughter's to play and ride around on some bikes borrowed from the farm. The location was ideal and not too far from a town or a day on the beach. We will definitely be returning as we've had the most lovely holiday and actually feel we relaxed being in such a quiet, picturesque spot.

My partner and I loved it THAT much, we are STILL there! We requested to extend our stay and despite having to move some bookings around, Alan and Lynne managed to make it possible for us! I had 3 nights of blissful sleep thanks to their fabulous pillows and now I get 3 more! 😁

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this forest chalet. The location is incredibly serene—nestled among trees with a stunning view of the sea, it truly felt like a peaceful escape from the stress of everyday life. The chalet itself was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. It’s the perfect place to relax, read, or take quiet walks in nature. The host was also very responsive and welcoming, making the whole experience smooth and comfortable from start to finish. Milton was extremely helpful. We left a few things behind he couldn’t have been more helpful. Answered every message quickly. We felt really at home in the Lodge. Everything we needed and appreciated the fire as the weather suddenly turned cold. Thank you for all your help. We would love to stay again.

Kevin's place is a very cool, alternative place to stay. Off grid and super chilled. I would stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay. The area is lovely and it was very peaceful - just the calming sound of the waves nearby. With 3 beautiful beaches, each with their own character, within a few minutes' walk, it was so easy to explore without necessarily travelling much. We really enjoyed staying in the chalet - it had everything we needed and our holiday was a joy.

Wir haben im Juni '25 eine wundervolle Woche in Maggie's Chalet verbracht. Die Lage ist einfach traumhaft. Es gab für uns nichts schöneres als morgens mit einer Tasse Kaffee den Blick auf's Meer zu genießen und abends den Sonnenuntergang zu bewundern. Das schöne Häuschen ist ausgestattet mit allem was man für einen gelungenen Urlaub in Devon benötigt. Es ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für viele Unternehmungen. Es gibt zwei hervorragende Pups die zu Fuß gut zu erreichen sind. Vielen Dank liebe Maggie für die gute und lustige Konversation mit dir. Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen und können das Chalet zu 100% weiterempfehlen

Everything was perfect. This is a beautiful place. The views are outstanding. We were very comfortable here and had everything we wanted. The bed was so comfy, plenty of hot water, tv, WiFi and phone reception was perfect. We would like to return. Thank you Heather

Chalet is clean, welcoming and in a great place with wonderful views. Chalet is well equipped for catering and comfortable for relaxing. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Nick’s chalet and we look forward to visiting again next year

This was our first trip as a family of three and Eszter’s place was just what we were looking for! It had everything we needed, with a beautiful view and wonderful walks. Highly recommend it!

Wow! What an amazing place this is - it’s even more beautiful than the pictures! Jo and David are wonderful hosts, David even met us at the car park and helped up carry our bags down to the property. Great communication from Jo before we arrived with really clear instructions, super flexible with arrival time. We had the most wonderful weekend and will absolutely be back, can’t fault it, absolutely no negatives.

Great chalet and all we needed. Good access to Widemouth Bay, Bude and beyond! Bonus was being able to use the pool onsite!
