Holiday rentals with lake access in Bournemouth

John’s Barn is a stunning light and spacious holiday home , beautifully designed and furnished , and set in a peaceful , green countryside setting with acres of woodland to explore . We loved the private and pretty garden , and the walk to the lake to feed the fish . Our grandchildren loved the trampoline and play area , and the tree swing in the garden . Bobbie is a warm and friendly host who respected our privacy - we really enjoyed meeting her . We enjoyed visiting Romsey, and loved exploring the New Forest and all it has to offer . We will be returning - something we rarely do !

Very homely and very well stocked caravan. Nice and quiet when we stayed. Parking space at the side big enough for 2 cars. Samantha was very helpful and very responsive to messages. Activity passes included making this a very reasonably priced place to stay.

We stayed at Blashford Manor House on an annual friends' weekend. It's a really impressive, spacious house that I would happily recommend to anyone. We've sometimes found that properties can sleep 10 but that the lounge/dining room/outdoor furniture can't comfortably accommodate the whole group. No such trouble with this one. Ordinarily we would go out for dinner on one of our two nights but the house was so large and lovely that we opted to stay in and enjoy it whilst we could. The hot tub was a real bonus and saw lots of use.

Thank you to Scott for our short break to his accommodation. It was very clean and beautifully presented. Good location for dog walks and beaches. I would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Keepers Cottage, with beautiful surroundings in a perfect location to explore The New Forest! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a base to explore the area, will definitely be returning!

Mel was a great host with a beautiful home! The home was immaculate, as described and had some lovely homely touches and Mel was helpful, welcoming and responsive Mel goes the extra mile as a host which makes your stay feel like a home-away-from-home! The location is perfect for walkability into Poole and all the local amenities. Thank you Mel for a perfect stay!

What a wonderful find, location, location, location! The lodge is right on the river where you can watch the daily foray of boats, paddle boards, canoes and wildlife. The lodge itself was very clean with plenty of storage and cupboard space. Gorgeous outside space with strategically placed hammocks and chairs to watch the world go by. I had a massage in the spa which was wonderful and we all went in the sauna with its cold water pool, all on site, what an experience! Christchurch high street is 2 mins away with its many restaurants and shops. I would definitively recommend this Airbnb.

Great place to stay. Spacious and clean. Great walks from the site for our dogs and our little girl loved the evening entertainment and indoor pool. Would definitely stay again.

An absolutely beautiful place to stay. It was so quiet and peaceful, absolutely lovely walks around the lake where we saw deer and baby geese. The place itself was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We had fresh eggs from Jo and Jay’s chickens, juice, milk and other breakfast bits. The place came with binoculars which we used on our walk around the lake and on our day at Arne. We bumped into Jo who came out of her way to say hello and to ask how everything was. I cannot fault a single thing about our stay, it was exactly what we needed to relax ans detox and we will absolutely be back in the future!

The caravan’a main living area felt much more spacious than we imagined and there was quite a good sea view. It was right by the amenities yet still quiet. Parking was a little tricky but we have a big car and you can always use the main car park which always had spaces and felt very safe. Lovely resort with friendly, helpful and professional staff.

Ecerything was exactly as described. Check in simple. Very clean and tidy. Location was spot on for what we needed. Managed to get both cars on the driveway and we were allowed to keep both cars on there after check-out whilst we did other activities. Communication was also very quick, highly recommended. Beautiful stay at a calming room at a fun intellectual lady’s with great attitude

Although we didn't need to meet Jolanta face-to-face, we were lucky enough to see her when we arrived. She was very pleasant and welcoming, and offered any help if we needed it - which we didn't as her property had been so well prepared.

Fantastic accommodation. Magical location with views of the lake from the back so great to sit out on a sunny evening with the wading birds going about their business and other wildlife. The facilities were great. Nice little shower room. Plenty of homely touches with the owners providing eggs from their own chickens. The three units are in a block with plenty of parking at the front but the small rear gardens are separate and very private. Wareham Town Centre is about a 20 minute walk away on a flat, very quiet lane with hardly any traffic as it ends at the farm. Alternatively you can walk along the River Frome to Wareham Quay which is 2.5 miles and takes about an hour or along the Poole Harbour trail to the north which is about 1.5 miles and takes 40 minutes. Plenty to do and see in Wareham with its Saxon Walls, priory, quayside and plenty of good pubs and eateries. A real find and gem of a place and we are already planning to revisit next year. Andrew is a very good host who is helpful and responsive. His flat is centrally located, within walking distance to amenities in Westbourne and Town Centre. The flat is very well maintained with some interesting artwork. The room itself is fairly spacious and the bed is nice and comfortable. The separate bathroom is just next to the bedroom and is clean and spacious. Overall, I had a great experience staying there for 19 nights. Definitely will recommend it to anyone.

What a stunning property, great amenities, private garden and the wider estate was beautiful. Sandra was there to greet us and always available with advise on where to eat locally etc. Sandra allowed us to roam around her gardens and lake, swans, ducks, geese and deer to be found. The two local pubs, both within 10 minute walk were warm and welcoming serving lovely food. The location on the very edge of the New Forest gave is great access to the area. We explored every day and found somewhere new. We would book here again for sure.

Lovely little cottage with a secure garden. The village has a fantastic little shop for everything you need and a very friendly village pub with great food.

We stayed at the cottage during the week leading up to Easter and absolutely loved our time here. The surrounding landscape along the Yar estuary is so peaceful and full of wildlife, it made having a morning coffee beside the water, listening to all manner of birdsong, our favourite moment of the day. The Kings Manor grounds are gorgeous and we very much appreciated being able to play some tennis on the court by the main house. A welcome basket with goodies, friendly communication and a very uncomplicated check in/out, as well and all the wonderful places to visit on the island made this holiday truly a special experience for us. We would return in a heartbeat.

What a beautiful location, cosy house, comfy beds and great views. The area around the cottage is lovely with a lot of wildlife. Janey is very friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely stay!

We had a brilliant stay at the Pink House! The house itself was beautifully decorated and was warm and inviting - we felt really at home here. Deborah was very friendly and responsive in her communication and sent us lots of local recommendations of things to do and places to visit. The garden was really private and we loved the built in BBQ and home-grown tomatoes and cucumbers, and the welcome basket that we're waiting for us when we arrived. The Pink House is in a great location with walks right from the front door and only 15-30 mins drive to the various beaches. We had a wonderful stay and wished we booked for longer - we'll definitely be back again!

Weir Cottage was the perfect place for our weekend. We wanted to walk in the forest, dip our toes in the sea and do a little shopping so we were very content at Weir Cottage. The garden is an oasis of calm and quiet and was a unique place to relax at the end of the day. Shane was the perfect host and a mine of local information. Weir Cottage will be the first place we'll search for next time we plan to revisit the area.

A lovely 2 bed AirBnB that was well equipped (including dishwasher and washing machine), comfortable, charming and homely. The host's communication is excellent and friendly and I can heartily recomend staying here. The Smugglers Inn pub is nearby (but not at all noisy) and serves great food. There are a couple of other places to eat/drink in the village that looked very enticing but we didn't get the opportunity to try them. Maybe next time. It's in a great location within a short drive of various attractions and local villages and towns. All in all, a great discovery and I'm sure we'll use this particular AirBnB again.

The Boathouse never disappoints! We had a lovely weekend here - great to be back. Sad to see the Hot Tub go but the views and the setting reminds us why it's one of our favourite places. Highly recommend!
