House holiday rentals in Island of Ortigia

Giuseppe’s villa is beautiful, tastefully decorated and very spacious. The variety of outdoor seating areas were lovely for enjoying the sun at different periods of the day. The pool was superb, beautiful and clean. The villa is 10 minutes drive from Syracuse and Ortigia, which have a huge variety of delicious restaurants and bars. The streets are beautiful to explore, especially in the evenings. The only downside to the villa was the area. Unfortunately, there are no pavements so walking anywhere is unsafe. Therefore, hiring a car is necessary. There is a bus, but it only passes 4 x daily. There are local restaurants to visit, but driving is required due to the roads, and at our time of visiting it was unclear whether these were open or not. Despite this, I would happily visit Giuseppe’s villa again without a doubt. Thank you for having us.

Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit bei Alessandro. Gerade mit kleinem Kind gibt es tolle Möglichkeiten wie einen Pool, eine große Wiese zum Spielen und besonders das Baumhaus! Die Nähe zum Meer zu Fuß ist schön (wenige Minuten bis zu einem kleinen Einstieg an einem Steinstrand, ein Sandstrand zum Liegen ist besser mit dem Auto erreichbar). Alessandro hat uns bei Fragen geholfen und war gut erreichbar!

We loved staying with Giovanni and family whom were really friendly and helpful . The house is beautifully set above a beach with its own access . Our room was lovely with good facilities. We have spent hours over the last few days relaxing swimming and snorkelling in amazing waters . The house is in good proximity to surrounding areas of interest with a car .

Wir haben den Aufenthalt in der schönen und grossen Villa von Francesco sehr genossen. Sowohl die Villa, wie auch der phantastische Pool waren blitzsauber. Die Nachbarschaft ist sehr ruhig und angenehm und die Lage ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Tagesausflüge in die Umgebung. Die Villa ist somit sehr zu empfehlen!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in der Unterkunft von Antonio und seiner Familie! Leider hatte unser Hinflug über 3 Std Verspätung und Antonio hat mit uns noch um 2 Uhr nachts den Check-in gemacht und war mehr als freundlich. Die Unterkunft ist sehr gepflegt, es wurde sogar Wasser, alles für ein italienisches Frühstück sowie Pasta zum kochen bereitgestellt. Der Gartenbereich ist gepflegt und der Pool sehr angenehm. Es ist definitiv empfehlenswert ein Auto zu haben, dann ist die wunderschöne Altstadt von Syrakus in ca. 15 min zu erreichen und man ist in unter 5 min am sehr schönen Strand. Wir würden die Unterkunft in Arenella definitiv weiterempfehlen!

The villa was absolutely beautiful and very well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the choice of outdoor areas and the pool. Sabrina was an extremely lovely and responsive host who made sure our stay was smooth. Arriving in Catania at 8am, we were able to do an early check-in which was much appreciated. Our children also appreciated the cats who came to say hi, it reminded us of ours :) We would definitely recommend Sabrina’s place.

Giuliana was a wonderful host – warm, welcoming, and always discreet. Her beautiful Shanti is a truly special place: the house is stunning, peaceful, and the pool adds a magical touch. We felt at home from the very first moment. Giuliana was always available with helpful suggestions and made our stay in Sicily even more enjoyable. Her kindness and care made a real difference. This has been a holiday we will always remember with joy. Thank you, Giuliana, from all of us – we hope to return soon to this little oasis of peace.

Roberto och hans son Erik var helt fantastiska. Vi bodde i Villa Bismarkia som var rent och prydligt. Allt man kan tänkas behöva finns och de gemensamma ytorna var så välskötta och fina. Rekommenderar start detta boende!

Consiglio vivamente questo appartamento nel cuore di Ortigia, a due passi dal mercato e dalle principali attrazioni turistiche dell'isola. Leggermente più lontano il teatro antico e l'area archeologica, comunque raggiungibile a piedi. Nei dintorni è possibile trovare ristoranti popolari ma di notevole qualità. Il quartiere è interamente pedonale, essendo un'antica medina araba. L'appartamento è moderno e funzionale, molto fresco e areato, con un'ampia terrazza senza vis-à-vis. Wi-fi funziona perfettamente, è una comodissima base per esplorare la città. L'host è estremamente reattivo, raggiungibile su Whattshup e sulla piattaforma, per qualsiasi bisogno urgente o meno.

Location, location, LOCATION ! This Airbnb is literally in the heart of it all, amazing. We’d be walking around and all of sudden you’re back at the Airbnb, that’s just how well located it was. The place is spacious, charming and peaceful. It could use a few more towels and the showers need a proper deep cleaning- regardless you cannot go wrong with this choice. The host and their co host (Emilia) were INCREDIBLY responsive and helpful. 10/10 experience, felt very integrated and I absolutely loved the place.

Appartamento centrale, con caffè, acqua, cibo, tovaglie, aria condizionata ben funzionante, e saponi vari per lavarsi. Roberta è gentilissima e disponibile! La stradina è molto bella, l’appartamento è un’amore, molto curato in tutti i dettagli. Il Check in e check out sono molto facili e Roberta ti indica bene come farli. Il letto e i cuscini sono molto comodi. Spero di poterci tornare la prossima estate e lo consiglio vivamente!

Nous avons passé 3 nuits dans le logement et nous avons adoré l’endroit. L’appartement est très bien situé pour accéder aux jolies rues d’Ortigia ainsi que ses restaurants que Delia nous a d’ailleurs très bien conseillé. L’endroit est également très calme et le studio dispose de tout ce que nous avions besoin. Delia a été de très bon conseil et toujours très réactive, merci encore pour votre accueil !

Wonderful location in beautiful Ortigia! Felt very safe, surrounded by lots of nice cafes and restaurants, 2 min walk to the most amazing views of the water. Super easy check-in and check-out which is great in case of any travel delays from Catania airport. Everything was clean and tidy and Marco is very responsive. There’s a bit of noise from the sidewalk at certain hours because it’s on the ground floor and looks out onto the street, but closing the windows muffles it pretty well. Highly recommend!

Huset er helt perfekt og smukt renoveret med mange fine detaljer. Der er 2 dejlige badeværelser og huset er rent, lyst og venligt. Tagterrassen er skøn med udsigt over tagene og kig til havet. Dejligt med udekøkken, blomster og planter på terrassen. Huset ligger 2 min gang ad små fine gader fra det skønneste marked, havet og restauranter. Giuseppe har været utrolig fleksibel ifht ind - og udtjekning. Vi anbefaler varmt Guiseppes hus samt Ortigia.

Nous avons passé deux nuits dans l’appartement, et c’était très propre, cosy et calme. Je vous le recommande vivement !

Merci à Michel Angelo pour son accueil. C'était tout simplement parfait. la maison est idéale tant par l'emplacement que par sa conception et ses prestations. on a énormément apprécié la terrasse, la proximité de la petite plage au pied du restaurant familial. Le breakfast offert par la maman de Michel Angelo était très généreux et plein de bonnes intentions. C'est l'esprit même de ce que doit être un hôte : générosité, réactivité, professionnalisme. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in Syrakus - und das unter anderem Dank dieser schönen, super zentralen Wohnung! Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, immer gut erreichbar und flexibel, was Check-in und -Out anging. Die Wohnung war geräumiger als ursprünglich gedacht und bot vielerlei Möglichkeit für gemeinsame Zeit aber auch Rückzugsmöglichkeiten. Wir können die Wohnung wärmstens weiterempfehlen!

Antonio was very helpful with a flexible check-in & instructions. Very easy to find his place and park across the street in a very inexpensive paid parking lot. His place was great for our family of 4 (including 2 teenagers). They were excited that they had their own rooms. The A/C worked great and made for easy sleeping at night. That’s not the case all over Italy. It was clean and the master bedroom was on the top level separate from everyone else. So even great if you were traveling with 2 couples. Nice cafe downstairs for morning cappuccino & pastries. Easy walking distance to Oritigia and I’d recommend for your stay in the area.

We had an awesome time at Maita’s place. Can’t beat the location! In the heart of Ortigia. Beautiful spacious air b&b.

Sometimes I joke about not wanting to review my favorite places for fear it will make my next booking harder. But this is no joke. Francesca and Carlo have a paradise, and I’ll be working hard to get back soonest. We stayed 10 days, visiting Syracusa and Noto, Etna lava and wineries, and found it increasingly difficult to leave even for a few hours. Evenings shift from the cooing of pigeons to the plaintiff call of owls, with the sounds of waves from her almost private coast. The house is rich in family memories, and gorgeously decorated. The ceilings high and rooms airy.The kitchen a gem to use.

Marco was the best host anyone could hope for! Very polite, helpful, flexible and giving good advice about apartment and Syracuse city. The apartment was beautiful and in very good location, walking distance from archeological area and Ortigia, wonderful restaurants and bakery nearby. Close to supermarket aswell. We spent very lovely week there with my husband and two small kids. Wish we could come back someday. Thank you Marco and Stefania!

Me and my Wife had a wonderful experience with Elena as our host. The location of the Airbnb was local enough and touristy enough to enjoy both vibes. Would highly recommend this location to anyone wanting to enjoy great restaurants, and still find local shops to enjoy. 10/10

We had a wonderful 5 night stay in Ginevra's house in Ortigia in June 2025. The house was a great base to explore the local area and was also very comfortable and the AC was much appreciated! We loved chilling out on the balcony and being in the heart of such a historic town...and swimming off the rocks! bravo!
