Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Charente

This is a beautiful place to stay on the banks of the Charente which we enjoyed from the canoe but just loved seeing it flowing along edging the grounds. We came on the train which is a very easy journey from Paris to Jarnac. It is then less than an hours walk along the cycle path or quicker along the very quiet road. The market in Jarnac is excellent and there’s some nice cafes and bars. In Bourg Charente itself the bar tabac sells morning baguette and croissants, especially good to put an order in the day before. Also in the village La Ribaudiere restaurant was absolutely amazing and an experience not to be missed. So this is a great place to stay if you are car free like us but bicycles really help too especially with direct access to the 400 km path La Flow Velo. Lots of fun! Thanks to Andrea and Dominic.

La petite maison de Mélanie est atypique, bien décorée et très bien équipée. L'endroit est très calme, elle est située a proximité d'un restaurant, d'une petite épicerie et d'une boulangerie. Idéal pour un petit déjeuné dehors. La cour extérieur est très agréable et close, notre petit chien a adorée.

Julie was very friendly. The apartment is very spacious with a very big garden. It was very quiet and I slept like a baby because the bed was great. I am definitely recommending the place to anyone who loves being close to nature. It is also very walkable from the apartment to downtown Angoulême (around 15 mins).

WE de mariage au Château de Brie (si vous faites du tourisme dans la région , ce beau domaine se visite) nous avons apprécié nos quelques heures de repos dans la très paisible petite maison de Jeannette. Nous n'avons pas pû nous rencontrer mais nous avons eu de très bons échanges avec Jeannette pour préparer notre arrivée.

Sophie and Craig were the perfect hosts, they were so friendly and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. There was a welcoming (and much appreciated) basket of goodies waiting for us on our arrival and a bottle of wine in the fridge. The gite was just as described and the perfect place to unwind. Lovely views throughout the meadow and surrounding area, the natural pool was a delight. The chickens provided fresh eggs for breakfast and the dogs, Roo and Ted are adorable. We would totally recommend this place and we will definitely return. Kim and Carol

Merci pour ce charmant cottage, nous y avons passé de très bons moments en famille. Le jardin est superbe, arboré, calme et agréable. La fraicheur de la maison est très agréable en été. Tout est conforme à la description, avec en bonus des bacs de jouets pour les enfants !! :)

Séjour parfait Logement parfaitement équipé Tout était parfait

Nous avions choisi ‘Le Manoir’ pour son cadre et la décoration ‘So British’ Nous n’avons pas été déçu! Au contraire on s’est tout de suite bien senti dans notre logement de vacances. Grace notamment aux détails (lits anciens mais excellentes literies) cuisine très bien équipée et que dire de la salle de bain grandiose!!!! Nous avons un seul petit bémol : la vaisselle pour 6 personnes est un peu juste. L’ accueil et la réactivité de Scottie ainsi que de Kerstie sont à la hauteur des lieux.

We really liked Thomas’ place. The pool is much better than the photos look and the pool was very clean. A great little seating area under a canopy and plenty of sun loungers. Rarely used by anyone else! Good location for road cycling (road cyclists from UK will find the roads undulating and open). Really nice peaceful setting. Really quiet. WiFi good enough to do video calls to work from the house.

Bonjour ! Nous tenions à vous remercier chaleureusement pour ce merveilleux week-end passé dans votre chalet à Nontron. Le cadre était absolument charmant, paisible et ressourçant. Exactement ce qu’il nous fallait pour faire une vraie pause. Votre accueil et les petites attentions à notre arrivée ont été très appréciés. Le chalet est parfaitement équipé, décoré avec goût, et on s’y sent tout de suite comme chez soi. Je recommande à 100% le logement d'Alban et Sandrine qui sont des hôtes très gentils, très accueillants et disponibles ainsi que leur voisine Virginie qui nous a accueillie dans un premier temps. Le logement est fidèle à la description et aux photos, voir encore plus beau! Propreté impeccable, décoré avec goût, on s'y sent tout de suite très bien! L'environnement est idéal et le village très charmant. Un seul regret: être resté qu'une seule nuit ! ;) Merci beaucoup Alban et Sandrine, je retiens votre adresse avec joie !

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille. Nous avons profité pleinement de l'immense et paisible jardin. La gite a un charme authentique et est également très fonctionnel et moderne. Des sentiers de randonnées sont accessibles facilement, et les enfants ont pu voir les moutons et autres animaux situés dans les champs voisins. La communication avec l'hote Isabelle était également très bonne, très reactive par message ou téléphone. nous avons beaucoup apprécié la flexibilité sur les horaires d'arrivée et de départ. bref, on recommande fortement, le séjour était parfait.

Nous avons passé un week-end de rêve entre amis (5 personnes) dans cette très belle maison au calme absolu au milieu des vignes et très bien équipée très largement au dessus de la moyenne des locations qui s'en tiennent au strict nécessaire. A noter le très bon accueil de Lucy dont le briefing est complet. Un vrai coup de cœur que nous recommandons.

A gem of a place ! It is not easy to find places in the region that are not exorbitantly expensive or furnished from grandma's leftovers; this hits a perfect note with a mixture of stylish antiques and comfort, everything has been thought of down to the Savon de Marseille in the bathrooms! Clearly lots of love has been poured into the house and it shows, from a well stocked larder with everyday essentials (including coffee pods for the machine) to the lovely welcome hamper. The garden at the back overlooking the old monastery is perfect and very secluded and even though it was only April I managed to eat outside each morning and evening (there are 3 other terraces too). The host is on hand easily for tips on where to eat or visit if needed. Tusson is a great village with a good places to eat including the wonderful Gateaux for amazing cakes.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Laëtitia. L endroit est magnifique, le logement aussi. Ce mélange de bois et d accessoires modernes est top. Laëtitia est une super hôte, très accueillante, réactive et disponible. Je recommande vivement ce logement. Dans l hypothèse où nous reviendrons dans la région, nous retournerons dans ce logement sans aucune hésitation.
